If you need to find out about police reports, if you have time that is, you can actually go there and request the police reports. They're a part of public record and free to the public to get. It's how I am probably going to get a lot of my information for my stories once I graduate and start working for a news outlet.

Is there way to check police call reports online to see what happened on their end? I've tried googling it but having a terrible time figuring out what I'd even be looking for. They won’t tell you anything

They won’t tell you anything They won't show an arrest made, even with no other details? I'm just trying to find that out and that I somehow missed him walking out with them.

They’ve refused to confirm the time a car accident was called in plenty of times I’ve called them, even with a report number.

Look up the county jail's roster. You could narrow it down by time and the crime they're booked in on. Some even have the arrest location.

It’s not public knowledge It all absolutely is public knowledge. It's how I get the information for arrests and such in stories I write. Not a special thing for reporters because we don't have special rights other than what any citizen has.

If you have to testify, you may talk to individuals before the trial. The defense may use this against you as a means of tampering but don't let it dissuade you.
How do I know this? I once had to testify under oath as I was the victim in a criminal confinement case.

I once had to testify under oath as I was the victim in a criminal confinement case. I think you might be overthinking what I'm asking on this. I'm not asking for names of people or descriptions of people; I was only asking if there were a simple-ish way to see a record that might say something as basic as "Received call at (address), gunfire reported, arrest made"

You might try checking the local jail roster If you know your neighbors name.
