So I’m pretty much a lazy dude. I’m a young looking 35 year old single guy who works from home for a insurance company that involves a shield and a cross, and I spent 8-9 hours a day sitting in my chair answering calls. I love being outdoors, and grew up a active athletic kid who played sports. As I’ve gotten older, work, relationships, stress, bodying hurting has really put me into a slump. I’ve recently decided I want to try some small things to see if I can loose a little weight. I’m about 5 foot 8-9 and 215LBs so I’m not like huge but I’m a shorter stockier dude with a thick build. I’ve recently started riding a bike and even though it’s a pain at first with getting the right bike, seat, and feeling comfortable on a bike, I’ve really enjoyed it! I basically ride a paved circle trail that goes around my town 4-5 times a week, and usually average about 13-15 miles a day. Anyone else ever tried biking or cycling to loose a little weight? Any tips? Success stories? The bike I bought is a little smaller than I like and I feel a little awkward on it, it’s a Raleigh talus 1 and I got it used basically brand new for $200 but appears to be a 400-450 dollar bike. One day I hope to get a nice bike that’s more designed for roads, and put some money into it so I’m comfortable but for now this bike will do! I don’t try to kill myself in the bike and some of the paved trail is uphill so it’s a tough ride but I average about 9-10mph and I’m generally feeling good and mostly just my arms hurt from having to lean to the handlebars. I figured in town on mostly flat roads just casually I could probably average 12-14 mph and if I wanted to push myself probably about 15! Not sure if those are horrible speeds or average, but something is better than nothing!! Soooo back to the topic at hand! Anyone else have any biking/cycling stories/tips? I love strava app
