I was thinking about this earlier today: Are there any matches you can think of featuring a bad wrestler that was actually an excellent match?
For me the biggest one that comes to mind is, Big Mami Vs. Lady Maravilla: Hair Vs. Hair.
For reference, Big Mami is a morbidly obese and barely mobile wrestler for AAA who is mostly known for multi person matches where she doesn't need to work the whole time and other people can do the bulk of the work while she tags in and gets a few spots to pop the crowd.
For the most part she's pretty bad in the ring, but is certainly a fan favorite who can draw a response from the crowd in the right setting.
Generally speaking, you'd think that someone like that would not be the person you'd put in a high stakes singles match. But this one, with around a full year of build to it, it ended up being an awesome (if somewhat overbooked) match.

I remember enjoying the Great Khali's match against John Cena at One Night Stand 2007 or 2008 I think. Definitely the only Khali match I can say that about.

Trish Stratus vs. Stephanie McMahon Helmsley at No Way Out 2001 was a rather spirited brawl that performed well past the limitations of both women.

Sid may have had the best match of his career at Survivor Series 1996 against Shawn Michaels as far as single matches goes (for multi-man matches in his vita, his Wargames Match at Wrestlewar 1991 is also a contender).

Warrior's Came here to post this, but since I was beat to it, I'll say Warrior/Rude SS89. That match was fantastic

Macho man got another decent match out of Warrior at Summerslam 1992

It wasn't really because of him but I'd just like to point out that Giant Gonzales / El Gigante has a 5 star match on his record.

Diesel vs Shawn Michaels at IYH: 7 is still a banger to this day, and arguably Nash's best match.

Macho man got another decent match out of Warrior at Summerslam 1992 I'd argue that one is even better than the Wrestlemania match. It has definitely the best selling the Warrior has ever done, but doesn't get the love it deserves because of the count out finish.

I thought Big Show vs. Mark Henry at Survivor Series 2011 was a really good match minus the finish.

Triple H & Stephanie vs Angle and Ronda from a couple of Mania's ago is another one that springs to mind. Everyone was dreading that match and arguably, only Triple H had any right to be in the ring at all at that stage but it turned out a million times better than it could/should have done.

I assume it was all Flair bumping and backing off like a coward for 10 minutes or so.

In fact the inclusion of El Gigante is usually enough to immediately subtract at least one star no matter who else is involved.

I think he either does a run in or is just there in someone’s corner. I’m pretty sure this was the one I was thinking of: www.cagematch.net/?id=111&nr=861

Can't remember if he was in the corner the whole time or if he just came out at the end. It was to set up their stretcher match at the following ppv.
