Nuts I guess it was a match he wasn’t technically a part of. I remembered it was a great War Games match. I think he either does a run in or is just there in someone’s corner. I’m pretty sure this was the one I was thinking of: www.cagematch.net/?id=111&nr=861He saved Pillman from Sid at the end of the match. Can't remember if he was in the corner the whole time or if he just came out at the end. It was to set up their stretcher match at the following ppv. Yeah I think he just comes out to save him. I remember that match was on the Pillman DVD and I even thought to myself when I saw him, “Jeez who would have thought El Gigante would be involved in a five star match?” So he didn’t actually have one, just involvement. I always find those little tidbits about notoriously bad wrestlers fun. Like when you see a matchguide for a worker on cagematch.net and the only thing on it is that they were in a Royal Rumble for about 2 minutes.

Like how Lars Sullivan has a five-star match on his resume thanks to that multi-man ladder match at Takeover New Orleans. And, Sumo Guy with the random Greatest Royal Rumble appearance. 🤦♂️

Incidentally, I like that '91 WarGames but it ain't 5*. Not with Sid calling multiple spots on camera and a copout finish. Swapping out Arn for Zbyszko brings the match down a bit too--not because I dislike Larry and especially '91 Larry but because he just wasn't a Horseman.
There's a better example for this topic earlier on the card--Lex Luger vs. Dan Spivey. I don't think Spivey is as useless as Jim Cornette does but he wasn't exactly a great worker, or the guy that you'd expect Luger to have a great match with.

El Gigante/Giant Gonzales actually does have a really fun match against Great Muta. One of his final matches too.

I mean I was entertained by Ellsworth vs Styles for the WWE Championship. That was less "Ellsworth vs. Styles" and more "Styles wrestles a broom and Ambrose plays Bugs Bunny as a ref"

LOL, this was the first time I saw spots called audibly. My friend told me to watch as Sid told Rick Steiner if he was ready to do the clothesline or whatever. If we are counting beloved battle royals or multiman matches, then Royal Rumble '92 gives a point for a lot of people too. As for Warrior, the SS89 Rude match was very good too. Heck, WM6 can be used for him AND Hogan!

Great Khali had a fantastic Falls Count Anywhere match with Cena at the peak of LOLCENAWINS, which helped (along with a torn tricep) to people beginning to respect Cena as a wrestler

It wasn't really because of him but I'd just like to point out that Giant Gonzales / El Gigante has a 5 star match on his record. just "a" 5-Star match?

Kurgan and Giant Silva’s best match was arguably at Summerslam 1998 vs. Kai En Tai.
Great Khali vs. John Cena from I think Great American Bash in 2007.

I don't consider them bad wrestlers, but since so many do, the Bushwackers - as the Sheepherders - had some awesome matches with the Fantastics.

Van Hammer vs Cactus Jack is probably the best match Van Hammer ever had.

Van Hammer vs Cactus Jack is probably the best match Van Hammer ever had. Cactus got some great stuff out of workers who were notorious for not being "the best." The two tag matches he had (with Maxx Payne and Kevin Sullivan, respectively) against the Nasty Boys are awesomely fun chaos. Possibly the best I ever saw of the Nasties.

A very green Dana Brooke (I think it was barely a year after her debut) was Asuka's first WWE hurdle to overcome and both feud and match were a roaring success.

I don’t know if I’d call Disco inferno a “bad wrestler” because who knows: outside of that gimmick he may be really good. But he had two matches at Halloween Havoc 1998 and I thought both of them were REALLY good.

Brie Bella vs Stephanie McMahon.
Two shitty wrestlers somehow had a great match.

Hogan vs Warrior Wrestlemania VI. No one really expected them to put on a great entertaining match but they did. Neither were considered mat technicians but Hogan for one night was able to bring the best out of the Warrior.
