Current Wonder of STARDOM Champion Arisa Hoshiki has been forced to retire due to head and neck injuries at just 24 years old. She only returned to wrestling two years ago after having stopped in 2012, so she's had two short runs that's pretty much been her career. The last run was really good, she had a mean head kick.

There had been rumors she was dealing with a bad injury since she missed her title defense at Stardom's No People Gate, but it's a pretty big shocker to fans since she was receiving a pretty big push and praised match tear since coming back from her first "retirement" (which wasn't injury related--singing and hobby I think) and was said to be one of the big four Bushiroad wanted featured heavily going forward (she was essentially booked as the second top star and building toward a double title match with Mayu).
All were for different reasons, but that makes three retirements (Hazuki, Kagetsu, and now Hoshiki) of pretty big names for Stardom in the past year.
But yeah, really sad given how talented and popular she was. Let's pour one out for her Brazilian kick.

Sucks as a fan of hers, but obviously her health and well-being are most important. Glad I got to see her live once.
Hope she can recover and enjoy her life. I’m sure she will put all of her attention on to her band now. Which is good for me, as I’m a fan.
I guess Giulia will be getting the white belt now, as she’s been getting a big push.

You hate to see it. She's only 24. It’s crazy to think. Some wrestlers who have made it really big didn’t even start training at 24. And I’m not just talking DDP who started super late either. It just shows intense the joshi system is.

It just shows intense the joshi system is. Yeah, she started as a teenager with the original Stardom training class. She left wrestling for a few years. Did some kickboxing. Sings in a band. Went back to Stardom. Got a big push. Now she's done with wrestling (again) at 24. She was given a really big push in her second run with Stardom.

Damn, STARDOM takes yet another hit. This doesnt hit me as hard as Hazuki did (and I'm still holding out hope of seeing Hazuki somewhere, somehow...) but it still sucks.

Ugh, that sucks. Hoshiki is awesome, that's a gut punch.
But yes, health comes first, and I'm glad she has fleshed out interests outside of wrestling to pursue, as well, so it doesn't have to be a sad ending to her story. Just blows for us fans and for that sweet, sweet kick.

Such a huge bummer. She was a future red belt champ, for sure.

For what it's worth, the English Stardom Account gave a thank you video that has some highlights from her comeback run. It skips a lot (it's mostly built around the Tam feud/making up and understandably skirts around the bloody Utami match which was my fav lol) but it's a decent digest of her second run.
Also last Tweet I post, scout's honor, but I loved this one so much. (the whole thread has good highlights, and is a match worth seeking out for the curious)

The love/hate saga with Hoshiki and Tam Nakano was a lot of fun, culminating with them winning the tag league.

This definitely sucks. I'm glad she has outside interests, and hopefully can focus on those more now, but it's never good to see a career cut short.
