Anybody ever watch or hear about the YouTube channel Wrestling Bios? It's been around for about a year now and I think it's pretty awesome. It's one guy who loves the profession and gives a true take on storylines, factions, and superstars themself. If you haven't seen the channel, I would definitely check it out. And if you have seen it, what is your thoughts on his channel? Sound off below. Link - Wrestling Bios on YouTube

Haven’t watched them up they pop up in my feed. How’s the guys voice? Is it dull and monotone? Or is he pleasing to listen to? If I’m gonna sit there and listen to you, you better have a voice worth listening to.

If I’m gonna sit there and listen to you, you better have a voice worth listening to. He is Northern Irish, so his vowels are quite marble-mouthed. I wouldn't describe him as charismatic, but he's a good few cups of coffee above Yesterworld at least. I have to say, I love this guy's f***ing channel. He produces SO much content, partly because of how simple his videos are. I mainly use him as more of a podcast than a video to watch, he's great to listen to while cooking or cleaning - and there is so much stuff on his channel already that inevitably some of it will interest you. Of particular note are his supercuts - he often does retrospectives on particular years or phases of a wrestler's career, not always chronologically or sequentially uploading, and then circles back and makes a cut of all of them. I know Warrior has one, plus Bret, and Undertaker's 90s, and Hogan I think? I think that he also walks the ethical line perfectly. I'm someone who some might describe as a 'snowflake' in that I try not to support content that uses language or expresses certain viewpoints about things - I think Wrestling Bios is someone who is basically, sitting on the fence while able to give analysis. He acknowledges segments with edgy content in, but notes the different times they were made in and that it wouldn't happen today, but talks about his own reaction as a viewer at the time and the audience reaction. He also has a quite esoteric opinion on some of the sacred cows and whipping boys of the IWC, but he doesn't seem contrarian about it, he just gives his own viewpoint on it. I'll say this much for him - he made me want to watch some of the Brawl For All because of the bits of it he said he liked.

He's covered the WWF's NWA invasion angle from 1998 now.
Also, check out his Reliving The War series. I'd pay top dollar for that to be on Peacock

I'm really enjoying his relieving the war videos.
His stuff is really well edited. Some of his points of view are heavily eye rolling, but as a historian of 90s wrestling its the best produced stuff I've seen on YouTube.

My favorite wrestling YouTube channel by far. He goes very in-depth and he has a lot more personality in his videos now than when he first started. One of my favorites is the video he did towards the beginning of his channel on Brutus Beefcake’s many gimmicks. Reliving the War is appointment viewing for sure! He incorporates fun things like Glacier Month, The Meng Manliness Meter, Davey Boy Smith chinlock alert, etc. in that series. He’s also starting to review PPV’s as they happened back then as part of the Reliving the War series. Can’t put this guy over enough. If you haven’t checked out his channel, you’re really missing out

I didn't mean it as a criticism, but looking back on my own post now I am grossed out by my word choice. The Northern Irish accent is in my experience one that Americans find especially hard to decipher.

I don't like it.
They come up on my feed and the subjects are always interesting, but I don't want to listen to some guy just read quotes that other people said in a boring tone for a half hour.
Now if he actually cut to audio from shoots and stuff it would be much more interesting.

Calling Glacier's teacher "Grandmaster Sensei" is the greatest joke in wrestling history.
This fella is truly a jam-up guy.

I get a lot of the video recommended to me and I enjoy them.

His videos started out good and then became great once he started hitting his stride with the Reliving the War series. His editing and production is top-notch, but what I like is that he doesn't try to shoehorn in the kind of irreverent and ironic humour of most of the other channels. He mostly gets on and covers the wrestling (although more meme-y running jokes are starting to crop up). He clearly has a real fondness for 90s wrestling and rarely bashes the wrestlers; you can tell he was actually watching this stuff at the time and talks about certain characters came across to him as a viewer at the time, rather than just regurgitating the same retrospective views a lot of YouTubers do. Just good, balanced reminiscences with a guy who isn't constantly trying to get himself over.

DAVEY BOY SMITH CHINLOCK.
That’s my, rather “perr” contribution to this thread.

Really glad you mentioned this channel. Had seen it in my recommendations but I never watched the videos.
Subbed after the nwa video. I think he does really good work.

I be putting his videos on to fall asleep and I don’t say that to bury him. If anything, I consider that one of the highest compliments I could give to a content creator
