Thank you for posting that.
I've been wondering, since I checked her history on Cagematch, I saw she actually won the DDT Heavy Metal Title (the Japanese version of the Hardcore Title or the 24/7 Title) back in 2005, when she was just 7 years old and 11 years before her official pro wrestling debut. She beat someone named Tanny Mouse for the belt, then she immediately lost it to her mother Kyoko.
I wonder, is there any footage of that existent anywhere, since it was at a house show and not a televised show.

I don't really want to reopen fresh wounds but since there's some people that replied here in this thread that have never heard of Hana Kimura (or knew her work that well, like myself, as I don't really follow the joshi scene and only get bits and pieces here and there), I thought it can do good to share this here. A friend of mine made a sort of abridged retrospective on Hana's career (and a bit about her mother Kyoko as well), which I feel would be a nice introduction for those who want to know a little more. And for those who knew and followed her career, well, a reminder of the good that she left us with. (for full disclosure, I sometimes appear in podcasts on this channel, but my only involvement in this video was revising the Portuguese script that served as base for this English version) Hope you all enjoy it. To the mods: if this is somehow violating any rules please do tell, so I can adjust the post accordingly. >Bushiroad took down the video Wow, yikes.

It seems to be a manual strike at that, so Bushiroad's squadron is out there. EDIT: Well, the video's been re-uploaded on Dailymotion for the time being. After reading what Kyoko said, considering the producers pressured Hana to act like that in a way that caused the scummy fans of Terrence House to harrass Hana until she tragically took her own life, is it possible that the producers can be charged with something like manslaughter considering it was their instructions that started this whole horrid tale?

Kyoko Kimura pretty much confirmed all my suspicions. This loss really hurts. It was so needless.

I just watched that video and started to genuinely cry. I miss her so damn much, already.

I'm a couple days late on this, but dear God, my eyes teared up when I read "It's Candle Day!" Good God, this poor woman. I really do hope that there's some kind of justice in all of this, hard as it is to picture where it might come from.

I nearly burst into tears when I read 'It's Candle Day' and that someone so positive had to be snuffed out because of reality TV and asshole "fans". It's still horrible to think that Hana took her own life at only 22. I still haven't gotten over this and I can't even imagine what Kyoko is going through.

Allegedly, Bushiroad/STARDOM called up Hana’s family two days after she passed to arrange a memorial service, a show and how to divide the profits. I didn’t want to jump to any conclusions but AwamoriRock, is this something that usually happens when a wrestler passes in Japan? Just as a frame of reference on the matter.

I think in both wrestling and the entertainment industry, it happens. If I recall the show for Atsushi Aoki after he died in a motorcycle accident was announced pretty shortly after his passing. Merch dedicated to the deceased (or even severely injured) is sold and and split in some way between bereaved and the company. She might be against it altogether since she said she doesn't want people using her death for money and has flagged any unofficial merch she sees in the past, but I think Hana's mother's main contention is that Bushiroad contacted her about how to split money on Hana goods/show just two days after she died (I think how she died is a big point here, I think if it were an accident or due to health it wouldn't be that upsetting). She's talked about releasing merch of her own and holding a service, so I dunno if that in and of itself was her issue. She also claims that Bushiroad refused a request to cooperate with her as an intermediary when talking to FujiTV (which aired Terrace House). There's kind of a feeling that Bushiroad was related to her getting on the show to begin with, and were an employer, so I imagine she is not happy with how their priorities came across.

Appreciate that. I just didn’t want to say anything one way or another since Japan has a different way of thinking with some issues so I wasn’t sure if this was something that usually happened regardless of the circumstances or if this was as different because of those.

Netflix have removed Hana’s episodes of Terrace House from the service...almost 4 months after the events but I guess that’s better than nothing.

Your words matter, and they hold weight. You think what you're doing is funny or a game, but in the end, not only could it ruin the lives of others or worse, but it could ruin and change YOUR life forever just as well. I hope this is a PSA for at least some people who will listen, if you're thinking about sending that hate comment, maybe reconsider.

Kyoko Kimura (Hana's mother) announced that she will hold a memorial show at Korakuen Hall on May 23rd (anniversary of Hana's death). From her post, it sounds like she has hashed things out to an extent with Stardom/Bushiroad, and they will be cooperating in some form, I assume wrestlers being one of them. She clarifies that there's no financial exchange between them (since that seemed to be a point of contention earlier) and that she'll try to find a way for people who can't attend to see it.

Best way would be a Youtube Stream. That way people can easily watch it both live and after the fact for free

Landed a ticket for the memorial show, gonna be emotional but have to say I’m looking forward to it. I’m thinking Veny/Asuka may be in the main since she was so close to Hana.
Speak of the devil, she’s announced for it and Kagetsu is making a one day return
