Is there any way that the people who drove her to tragically take her own life will face any type of justice or punishment? Sadly, not likely. At most they'll fake an apology and go about still being scumbags

I legit thought everything was going to be ok with everyone quickly trying to reach out to her even the owner of Stardom but then finding out she tradgecly was pushed to take her own life is just beyond any words.
I know it is engrained in the world with idolizing celebrities and putting them on a pedistal but it is so much more insane in Japan with the Idol culture and how the fans over there legit believe they own those women and It likely will never change but man I really wish it would because I never truly knew how bad it could get when that one pop idol girl was shamed into shaving her head publicly because she dared to date some guy from a boy band.
RIP Hana you did not deserve this nore does anyone else.

I agree the trolling and harassment from fans need to stop. Its why I didnt mind when Seth or Bray clapped back against folks. People keep forgetting that wrestlers are human and seeing all the negativity makes the brain hurt Sorry but dont compare the country-wide harassment campaign Hana got to people not liking how Seth/Bray speak to fans or dont like storylines in twitter spats, that is really disrespectful, even if I know you dont mean to. I highly disagree with your statement they get the same kind of messages Hana gets as well. Maybe not on her level but they do get harassed as well. Whether or not theyre lashing out is justified you have to admit that a lot of wrestlers get a lot of hate filled messages just because fans dont like them and it needs to end

What is it about reality TV that this keeps happening to? In the UK, several contestants on Love Island have tragically taken their own life and now one of the best Joshi wrestlers in Japan has taken her own life thanks to a reality show. What is it about reality show that makes it a magnet for this kind of horrible events to keep happening?

At some point, you gotta say... f***ing internet and social media!
People shouldn't be available all the time, to be praised OR to be bullied! It's not healthy.
Also, online anonymity allowing pricks to be pricks and creeps to be creeps in complete impunity.
f*** that!

Is there any way that the people who drove her to tragically take her own life will face any type of justice or punishment? Any of the accounts attacking her are likely already noted by police, but in Japan they can’t really face consequences unless the family of the deceased issues a complaint to my knowledge.

Reality TV by in large magnifies everything about a person 100 fold and the producers etc want to magnify a persons worst traits because "it makes for great tv". It is that chase for fame and spotlight that alot of people are willing to put the worst of themselves out there.

I hope the Kimura family do more than issue a complaint considering that these people drove their 22 year old daughter with her whole life ahead of her to her death. I'm more surprised that the people haven't turned themselves in due to just the amount of guilt I assumed that they'd be carrying around?

What is it about reality show that makes it a magnet for this kind of horrible events to keep happening? It’s something that, honestly, should be talked about more and it feels like even the people speaking out on Twitter are sort of avoiding. There is a lack of thinking about the aftermath in these things and editing and narrative building were a driving force behind many of those events. Nor is there any reference about therapy being offered or anything of the sort for anyone going through stuff. I know that there wasn’t offered to anyone from Love Island after the show ended except more gigs. Hell, the fact Netflix has said nothing since the events happened, when the show is on their service, probably says a lot to me. It’s been a trending topic all day globally and a lot of people have spoken out. Is it just because everyone’s going after social media and not them or the producers who made it for Netflix? Again, this is not taking away from the online abuse at all because it’s a strong factor but nobody watched the show and suddenly hated her. That’s not how reality TV works.

Terrace House definitely need to be held accountable.
Reality TV editing is an open secret. Who they target on their shows and how really change their ratings, but also how that person is allowed to proceed in their lives.

Shit, she was a couple of months younger than me.
This is awful. At least with Shad we were able to take solace in the fact that he died saving his son and with the knowledge that his son was safe.
All we have here is a young woman pushed to a breaking point by a bunch of scumbags who take reality TV too seriously and a network which made her out to be the bad guy.
I can’t really add any optimism here it’s just a tragedy.

This news is ripping my heart to shreds. Just saw the article on the BBC's US front page, and that made it feel more real than anything. Also, seeing Adam Pacitti quoted there was both surreal (the idea that a guy I used to watch feuding over a cardboard belt is being quoted as a source by the BBC is mind-blowing) and heartbreaking (his words were actually really poignant).

I saw the Netflix show "Love is Blind" this year and Jessica who was editted to be the villain of the show was sent death and rape threats. I hope this starts a conversation on how we talk to and about wrestlers on social media. You never know how far words can push someone. Who are we to judge when an insult makes a wrestler lose their mind.

Being a long time Wrestling fan you can sometimes, as awful as it sounds, become hardened to handling tragedy. But as I'm seeing is the case with so many others with the outpouring of love for her online, Hana's passing has really hit me in a big way. The emotion of finding out about this news is still quite raw at the moment, so if I do a poor job articulating my thoughts I apologise.
I found out about the self harming and suicidal thoughts Hana was experiencing last night, a terribly sad situation, but it at least seemed like she'd got help in time and was going to be okay. The full details/news of her death must've broken about an hour after I got off the Internet. To come online about an hour ago to find out about her death has been a horrible gut punch.
Hana is a big reason that I signed up to Stardom World and starting following the promotion full time. Tokyo Cyber Squad has become my favourite faction. It's the worst kind of horrible that a human being who could light up an arena and radiate with confidence and had the World seemingly at her fingertips was feeling such inner darkness. The growing awareness/discussion around Cyber Bullying/Mental Health is moving things in a positive direction, but nowhere near fast enough. This story is painfully similar (with its link between social media/reality tv) to others that we're reading far too often nowadays. People really need to be held accountable for what they say online. I bet 95% of the trolls wouldn't have had the nerve to even approach Hana in person, never mind say the things to her they did via a keyboard.
With Shad's tragic passing and now this, I'd say this has to be one of the saddest weeks for Wrestling related news that I can recall, and that's unfortunately saying a great deal.
Rest in Peace Hana Kimura

I was not familiar with her but 22 is way way way too young to go and the circumstances around it are particularly horrifying. RIP and condolences to all her family, friends and fans.
