Choose your neighbors and tell us where you would live and how you would spend your day.

Shauna Malwae-Tweep(the reporter), Brandi Maxxxx, Bobby Newport, Mouse Rat are all pretty harmless compared to some other personalities. Garry outside of the Parks and Rec office was shown to not be clumsy and foolish so I bet as a neighbor he'd be very helpful.

Gaming with April and Andy. Enjoying the warmth of Jerry’s family. Trying to improve society with Lesley Knope. Manly stuff with Ron Swanson.

I'd want to go talk with Ann and Leslie, but probably I'd just get so fascinated talking to Perd and listening to his authoritative voice, the day would be over before I knew it.

Forget the stars of the show. Give me the residents at the Town Hall meetings. They provided the series' best lines and, if you've ever attended an actual local government meeting, you'll find they're a startlingly accurate depiction of small-town crackpots.
I think we ought to throw those bars out and eat ham and mayonnaise sandwiches. Ham and mayonnaise! Ham and mayonnaise! Ham and mayonnaise!
But isn't all food bad for you? I've been eating lasagna and muffins every day of my life for 40 years and I feel terrible.
There's a sign at Ramsett Park that says 'Do not drink the sprinkler water,' so I made sun tea with it and now I have an infection.
I found a sandwich in one of your parks and I want to know why it didn't have mayonnaise. What's so funny?

One of them would have to be Perd who would be my neighbor because he'd be living adjacent to me.

I have a question about that show. Was there some turnover in the writing room between season 2 and 3? Cause I noticed after season 2 the show moved away from that very distinct "government workers are useless morons with toxic personalities" feel in the early show to a more conventional work com thing like Scrubs or Brooklyn 99 about people who are kinda whacky characters but still fundamentally good and competent.

Not sure of writing staff, but there was a shift in overall writing after the first season had poor reviews. I spent the past week rewatching seasons 1-2 and I noticed the tone/mood changed around the fourth episode. It wasn't even until maybe halfway through season 2 that everyone started making fun of Garry/Larry/Jerry/Terry.

Leslie and Chris for their positivity, Ann because you never known when you might need medical help, and Ron and Diane, because who wouldn't want to be pals with Ron and his hot wife?

Give me:
-Leslie & Ben: Leslie could probably be a bit much at times, but I bet they'd make baked goods and bring them over and also genuinely care how I'm doing. Also Ben and I could nerd out over stuff.
-Tom Haverford: bar hopping buddy, similar sense of humor.
-Perd Hapley: the story of this pick is that it's a good one. He just seems like a nice guy and he makes me laugh.
_Shauna Malwae-Tweep: I just think she's cute and she could fill me in on juicy gossip from around town.

It wasn't even until maybe halfway through season 2 that everyone started making fun of Garry/Larry/Jerry/Terry. The show changed drastically from the first season to the second season, in large part because Leslie changed from the first season to the second season. Season one Leslie was essentially a carbon copy of Michael Scott, a well-intentioned but dimwitted office type who is mocked behind their back but thinks they are beloved. Also, she's unrecognizably ditzy and occasionally outright stupid in the first season, compared to the strong, self-confident persona she developed into. It wasn't until the second season that Leslie found her own voice, gained her own confidence, and became her own character that the show took off. Also, the first season only had six episodes. That's really not enough time for the secondary characters to really develop. All we got to know about Andy was that he was a slovenly hanger-on, Ron was a dictatorial boss, Tom was a self-absorbed booty-chaser, Mark was a disillusioned career bureaucrat, and Ann was the friendly nurse. The show needed more time to really develop these characters, so it was natural that a full second season would allow them to really spread their wings and gain multiple layers, while background characters like Jerry, Donna, and April all eventually became significant characters in their own right.

The guy who always starts chants is an unsung hero. Also, I love that the payoff with his last appearance ever was finally being on Leslie's side. "We're not against you on this! We're not against you on this!"

Ron would leave you alone, while Leslie, Donna and Ann would be good neighbours.
I picked Perd over Jerry because, although well meaning, he’d probably make you regret living near him.

Leslie would be a very positive influence and she would give me meaningful gifts, though I would probably go nuts trying to think of a way to repay her. Ben and I could be nerds together.
Ron Swanson would keep to himself, however I feel that he would be helpful when it comes to handy work and see if my house has any problems.
April is basically the TV version of myself, hating people. So she would probably keep her distance, while Andy would always be up to something entertaining. (Perhaps a sequel to the Burt Macklin movie?)

The show really hit its stride at the very end of season 2 with the addition of Ben/Chris and the subtraction of Mark. From that point on, it was full steam ahead towards being the show that we all know and love.

Season one and part of two are surreal simply from Andy and April not being together. It's easy to forget Andy and Ann were actually a couple first.

Also I wanted to put this in my original post but kudos on such a comprehensive character list. It is truly impressive.
