Did not know Big Dick Johnson was this involved w/ with many of cool promotions. He might just be now the most well known wrestling writer (that isn't a celebrity brought in like Freddie Prince) since Chris Kreski back in the early 2000s. WWE LU MLW AAA Responsible for Edges original heel run , the straight edge society , the dirt sheet.

I had honestly forgotten he was rehired by the WWE. I'd say reserve judgment until details come out. For all we know, he was released for something terrible.

This might be the first time I have seen a guy get released and seen this many reactions like "who knows what he did to deserve it!" Does DeJoseph have a bad reputation that I'm unaware of?

I think it's more just that people are not wanting to get to thinking of gigs he could get elsewhere or getting up in arms about it if it might turn out he f***ed up in a major way or something. If it was one of the COVID-related firings, people would probably be more hesitant, but promoted and fired like days later, it is enough to make people more wary, I guess.

Assuming he wasn't fired for anything horrible, still I doubt we'll see him in AEW until Tony Kahn is off focussing on other things and they need more writer/producers.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him sign for MLW again, and shaft them the moment he gets a better offer.

Meltzer was saying he got rehired by WWE in the first place because a lot of his tweets were "AEW sucks" kind of thing. Kind of like AEW hiring Jim Cornette or Vince Russo but without the baggage of being Jim Cornette or Vince Russo.

It'll likely depend on the tone of those tweets, if he's all 'this product sucks', not great, but forgivable. If he's making personal attacks, probably not. He'll probably change his tune anyway to try and get hired now that the WWE is off the table, and try to get the LU alumni to put in a good word.

If I recall, Cody stresses in many of his interviews with media that AEW does not have writers. I don't think they'd be interested in signing Chris, and that's not because of his anti-AEW tweets back when he was angling for a WWE job.

He might not have even displeased them with his job performance. Maybe it was a situation where they had to let someone go for financial reasons, and it was him because he was newest.

No he has no bad reputation. Anyone that has worked with him and people that have talked to him before and after LU shows and even on dedicated LU podcasts he is absoloutely chill very approachable and very straightforward...can ask him anything and he will anwser you.

What on Earth can can possibly be considered unprofessional conduct in the labyrinth that is Vince McMahon's head?

I have never wanted to be a fly on the wall more than I do right now for that meeting. Knowing Vince, it could've been anything that set him off.

The fact that WWE themselves didn't say "unprofessional conduct", but that the sheets are saying Vince didn't like his behavior and said it was "highly unprofessional", I want to say it's a very good chance he didn't actually do anything. Another writer once got fired for taking selfies with the 'wrong' wrestlers during his work break. The fact we have no specific actions but just an idea that Vince didn't like him doesn't really serve as much sense there was anything he did wrong.

It is very likely very minute whatever he did because if it was anything more than the most minor shit it would have blown up by now...especially since it apparently involved Vince directly. If there is one thing about DJ that I could concievably say that would set Vince off it would be that he is very straight forward and does not fear to speak his mind...so maybe expressed himself when what he thought was a real crap idea came up since as he was one of the heads of creative on SD.
