There’s been issues with the forums loading slowly or not at all over the last few hours.
Apparently, it’s to do with the IBM cloud going down and as that hosts ProBoards (and I’d imagine several other places) it’s caused some issues.
Things seem to be gradually coming back online but there’s a chance there may be intermittent problems.

…. I didn't know IBM had a Cloud A piss poor one. Putting on my network engineer hat for a bit, when we did a bakeoff of cloud vendors a few years ago at my company, IBM was so far down we didn't even seriously consider them. I think they have 1% market share. The biggest players are AWS and Azure and then it's everyone else.

I'm having issues trying to search on mobile. Granted, the search function is ass all around, but now whenever I search in general, nothing comes up.

I'm actually shocked that IBM's still around because the last time I saw their PCs was in elementary school, a decade after they had been discontinued.

While the intentions from ProBoards may be good, the autoplay videos about coronavirus also slow the site down for me. I have to click them off before I can type anything.

They sold off their Thinkpad line to Lenovo quite a few years ago. Their bread and butter is hardware manufacturing, consulting, design, and data center.

I think they have 1% market share. The biggest players are AWS and Azure and then it's everyone else. This time last year I was working on a project for a company that IBM out sourced to sell companies on their cloud storage solutions...big solution stuff. It was a very successful campaign...we generated a ton of potential revenue for IBM...and, when fiscal year 2019 ended they decided not to renew our contract. There are a buncha theories around the office as to why but the prevailing one was IBM decided they could train their people to do our job better than we can and save themselves some money. I don’t imagine it’s turned out the way they thought it would. (by comparison; right now I’m working on a team that focuses on doing pretty much the same thing for Azure Marketplace. MIcrosoft has already renewed for FY 21 because of how successful we’ve been. The lesson? Don’t work with IBM if you can help it 😂)

It’s happening again but this time the IBM cloud has not been named as the guilty party.
