"I don't want to make anybody really mad or upset. But people take things extremely personal and get offended pretty easily, especially in pro wrestling. You would think people would have thick skins but a lot of them don't. You can rub them the wrong way very quickly. When it comes to people that matter, people that are important, people that sign my checks, I haven't upset any of them. They all like me and that's what matters to me." "There might be some other wrestlers, I won't mention names, they might be jealous because I am the new toy coming in. But at the end of the day, it's just egos and money. Some people might get upset as I called somebody out or got them upset but that's my job. My job is to make people care about what I am doing. And Sometimes I am going to ruffle some feathers for real and I am gonna get people really mad for real. But I can tell you this, my employer does not mind. Some of the toys in the toy chest mind but that's not my problem either. "If they have a problem they can say it to me, we can deal with it. And you know I fought in the UFC, I am a pretty bad person. If they want to step up to the plate then they are more than welcome to. I am also willing to have an intellectual conversation about it and we can talk about our differences." "I think they take my demeanor and my mindset or how I look at things as disrespect. I think even Vince might have taken it as me being disrespectful. When I talked to Goldberg, I told him I wasn't being disrespectful, I was just telling the truth and me being honest." "Brock Lesnar misunderstood what I was saying. I said I want to retire you, It's been my goal since I started wrestling. It is because in my head it was that I would become a legend in the process. It just happens that I am still going and the match might actually happen. That's it, bro. And Brock took that a little sideways. There's nothing personal, it's just business. End of the day, somebody like Goldberg, I hurt his ego a little bit. "With Brock, like somebody wants to retire, it hurt his ego a little bit. I get it but I don't get it because if somebody did that to me I would be flattered as someone's talking about me. Somebody is basing their entire career on retiring me because I am that good. But they don't understand it that way, they don't see it that way and they take it as disrespect. And that's how they take it, it's fine. All I can do is change their mind. I can do that with money or become more popular, so that's what I will do." www.hindustantimes.com/other-sports/fought-in-ufc-i-am-a-pretty-bad-person-matt-riddle-talks-about-his-issues-with-brock-lesnar-and-goldberg/story-ovVCO2lMXF7kCpesX1iBGM.html

lol, I couldn't stand Riddle before but now I'm pretty much a fan. I can't help it. Almost anyone who pisses off Goldberg is okay in my book. Still think he should be a heel, though.

Most wrestlers are egotistical insecure pussies who think they're legitimate hard men, when in reality they've never been in a real fight in their life.
Its funny to imagine a real badass like Riddle laughing at them behind their back.
But it's true. Some wrestlers are Infact, the biggest marks of all.

I mean, he did go out of his way to be a dick to Goldberg. You can argue he's right or wrong, but you can't repeatedly say somebody sucks and can't wrestle and then wonder why they're upset about it. Most 'I was just being honest bro' people are massive twats.
Having said that, I think it's part of what makes him a compelling personality so I don't really care. Aloof stoner badass is a great gimmick.

Then Goldberg tried to bury The Fiend and then I thought "You know what, Matts right. f*** Oldberg."

If Riddle was somebody I knew, I would hate the shit out of him and avoid him at all costs. He seems like atrocious company. 'Goldberg has shitty matches and I was just being honest bro' like regardless of who agrees Goldberg isn't going to like that.
However, because WWE, like all alpha male constructs, is ridiculously fragile despite claiming to be hard as nails, the fact that Matt Riddle, Actual Tough Guy said he wanted to wrestle with Brock Lesnar, another Actual Hard Man, in a Fake Wrestling Match to end the latter's career, that hurts Brocky's Big Hard Man feelings.
I mean what the f*** are we dealing with here? These are the old-school guys who do it territory-style, and it's the new crop of wrestlers that are the pussies? The ones that don't mind losing but tend to keep their heat? The ones that like video games instead of roids, and try to wrestle well instead of Be Big?
I've lost track of what my point was. What's for dinner?

I do think it's f***ing ridiculous that Vince doesn't give a shit about his wrestlers getting into real life feuds with each other over social media, if what Riddle said about them being fine with him pissing people off is true. I mean I already figured it was the case, but it sounds insane actually coming from one of the wrestlers. I know there are people like Alexa and Sasha who can put aside whatever real life drama's going on and be professional with each other in the ring, but it still makes the company look like a mess.

Vince actively encourages this. He likes to get the wrestlers to have heat with each other to make the feud have more bite - look at how much he put Shawn and Bret together.

Who else thinks Brock doesn't even know who Riddle is? I put Brock in the "I don't care" category, myself. As long as his cheque clears, he'd job clean to Sasha, but since he does like those easy cheques I suspect his only feedback on Riddle's big talk is that he isn't planning on retiring any time soon.

Just cos he wears a suit and runs the company, doesn’t mean he don’t get down and dirty with the talent.

I love Matt Riddle. He takes a ton of flack for being a "dumb stoner", but he's actually a well-spoken family man who's got his priorities right. How many old time wrestlers can say that?

Who else thinks Brock doesn't even know who Riddle is? I pretty much envision Brock like that too. Heyman: Brock! There you are! Listen, Matt Riddle has been talking some mad shit about you.. Brock: Let me just cut you off there, Paul. Who's Matt Riddle? Heyman: He's the guy who keeps telling everyone he wants to retire you at Wrestlemania. The arrogance of.. Brock: Let me cut you off again, Paul. Wrestle..what?

The only problem I have is that doesn’t Vince hate guys promoting matches that he’s got no interest in booking? Like, he apparently just was annoyed about the Orton/Ciampa feud because he’s got zero intention of making that happen. Vince sure as f*** isn’t going to book Riddle/Goldberg so why was he encouraging that?
