Rewatching this now. It's been said a ton of times, but it's still surprising the work they put in to make it as good as it is. It could have been like a ton of other movies trying to parody old tv, but it's funny in its own even if you weren't familiar with the source show.

I've forgotten how to move this thread where it oughta be. Ain't modded in a very long time. Point and laugh accordingly.

Sometimes, actors that you'd never think to put together have incredible chemistry and Tatum and Hill are a shining example of that.

Tatum is an underrated comedy actor. He was pretty much the best thing in both Hail, Ceasar and The Dilemna.
But yeah, both movies are great. The second is slightly better since it's this really bizarre sequel meta-commentary wrapped inside its own story but yeah.

The first was the stronger of the 2, but I very much enjoyed them both.
The sequel gag at the end of the 2nd movie had me in tears

Both those movies are hilarious. I’ll stop and watch them every time they’re on TV.

I still say 22 Jump Street is one of the strongest satires since Blazing Saddles.

I loved it. It basically succeeded where Ghostbusters 2016 failed, in that it left the original intact. Seeing Johnny Depp and Peter DeLouise towards the end as their characters getting killed had me howling with laughter. It was just mercilessly taking the piss.

He's not a huge fan of his time on the show and said he'd only film a cameo if they killed him off. Everyone doing the movie thought it was a great idea and we got a great scene out of it.

The scene in 22 Jump Street where Tatum figures out Hill is sleeping with the Captain's daughter is one of the loudest collective laughs I've heard in a theater. People were DYING during that scene.
Which brings us to the point that Ice Cube is also terrific in these movies.
