Great background checks at Disney eh Real reassuring He probably used his real name and not his stage name. Plus without being prosecuted for anything he probably flew under the radar. He'll inevitably act up again IMO, he doesn't want to try and atone for what he did and wants to go scorched earth His real name is Joseph Ryan Meehan. Dude just probably didn't make a big enough splash outside of wrestling circles to be even worth it.

Compared to other known abusers hes very small in the grand scheme of things. Hes not very well known like if say Kevin Spacey applied for this job

Man..... And I almost went on the ride last week. Half annoyed I didn't now for the surreal factor and half glad I dodged that bullet.

I mean that's fine? He left the industry seemingly and looks to just be trying to earn a living and avoid poverty. It is what it is.

I 100% support people getting to earn a living even after doing the shit Ryan did
It is in fact exceedingly unlikely they find out what his history is and as people have stated he never was convicted of anything
I was just shooting for an easy joke, but honestly it was beneath me and I apologise

I’ll be sure to catch Marty Scurll in the Stitch costume. The first performer to match the actual size of the character

Well he didn't really leave wrestling, he fought and clawed to remain and make money off it, wrestling just kinda told him to f*** off. I agree with the thought, just not that he had a choice in the matter.

Yeah even a company with the vast resources of Disney has their limitations. Out of curiosity I Googled Joseph Meehan just to see what comes up. There is a court case…from 1976 so probably a different guy. Otherwise the first guy is a New York based illustrator and another top listing is an obituary for a guy in Lowell, Massachusetts. Add to this Meehan was applying for a fairly low level job, not to be a spokesperson or something, and it’s easy to see how it could fall through the cracks.

Yeah, put that show he tried to book last year and then add with the lawsuit he still has with Impact Wrestling (as far as I know, doesn’t seem to be much of an update in a while), there really was no way for him to be booked unless he did was Scrull did and hoped some tiny German and Mexican promotions people barely care about booked him, he was forced to do other things. Like, say what you will about Jimmy Havoc but he at least had the sense to move the f*** on after he admitted to what he did and work in package deliveries.

Just for the record it's Disneyland in California, not Disney World in Florida.

On one hand I get presumably wanting to work in a public-facing vaguely theatrical sort of gig since for better or for worse, that's essentially been his skillset, but yeah he might just need to make a clean break to a non-public job.

Not to say that should be his route but Jimmy Havoc works as a package delivery man now. Like, it's a shitty direction to go down as someone who worked in front of crowds but when's the last time you needed to see your delivery person for longer than, say, 30 seconds?

I get why people had an issue with him in a public facing job (even if it's low on the scale) but I hope this doesn't happen to him everywhere he goes. Dude needs to make a living and I don't want him just starving on the street.
