How would you feel if AEW does a Round Robin Tag Tournament similar to the way New Japan does every year.
Basically a field of teams in separate blocks who each face one another and the two teams from each block with the best record face each other in the finals.
I know most skip or skim over it when New Japan does it at the end of the year seeing them as going into cruise control for Wrestle Kingdom but AEW has the teams to have it really be great and put on exciting matches.

If they are going to continue to drive home the importance of tag teams I think it is necessary
Problem is, unlike Japan were this is established you don't want to wear out your audience with too much tag wrestling. If anything you don't want to drag this further then a month.
I wouldn't say people skip over the tag league but its importance is the lowest among the tournaments NJPW runs during the year (NJC, G1, BOSJ, and Tag League). It also doesn't help that, that and the BOSJ run essentially back to back so there is fatigue in watching which AEW won't have but these tournaments never really fair well in the U.S.
I'd say, start the tournament on TV. Have the team in the finals matchup during a PPV. The winner of the league gets the title shot at the next PPV so you have a chance to build up that rivalry

It's only risky because the weekly TV format AEW has can force them to go through more tag match ups leading up to a tournament than NJPW's schedule does, so it wouldn't feel as fresh. They'd likely have to make the field a bit smaller than NJPW usually does, though they'd at least have the freedom to invite some non-regular teams in, too, so that could help.

I'm for it. Tag-team wrestling is AEW's strongest point and with a round robin tournament as opposed to a knockout tournament you don't have to worry about eliminating anybody before getting the full use out of them. They can show off their hot new hires FTR, they can rehabilitate Archer, Wardlow, Hager and Brodie Lee (and Cage after he inevitably loses to Mox), there's practically no downside to it. I guess a lot of the teams being in the same faction could be a slight booking issue but honestly there's no reason you can't turn that into a storyline. Like okay Santana and Ortiz take orders from Jericho... but are a team who call themselves PROUD AND POWERFUL really gonna lay down for Jericho and Sammy?
