Mommargon and Shugura look like rejected Power Rangers/Super Sentai monsters.

This movie holds a special place in my heart because of that talking sequence between Godzilla and Angirus. It's just two monster bros trying to save the Earth. I'd like to think that after the movie they go raid a giant brewery, get wasted and go pass out on Monster Island after staying up until 3am talking about the good old days.

This movie effected me so much as a kid I call my mother "Mommagon" after the comic guys character.
This movie in general has a bunch of my favorite human characters and moments a Godzilla movie. I love the three mains and their quest for knowledge on children's world, particularly corn cob gun man. And I thought it was interesting how the aliens assumed the identities of people - which led to the awesome moment when the the lighting changes and you see the bug shadows and the guy goes "Ahhhhhhh" lololol. That and the part where the roaches are dying in the fire and lamenting life are great. Haha. The part with the elevator/tnt/manga-drawing is also a standout.
As a kid my favorite monster was Anguirus - so this movie is a bit sad cause he gets beat up pretty bad (I guess, when doesn't he? hahaah).

Godzilla drinks and Anguirus smokes cigarettes or cigars. They play freaking darts.

Yeah, Anguirus seems to be the b**** in the Godzilla Monsterverse. I honestly have zero idea why the movie gets a bad rep. The movie is one of those that is really one of the easiest Godzilla films to get into.
