linkAn absolute colossus of composing. He defined the spaghetti western but he also did scores for comedies, gangster dramas, epics and Sci Fi. RIP

Wow, I've never used a stetson in my life, *excluding party days. Today I wore one in public with a huge grin on my face and instantly ' read news that Ennio Morricone is dead. Respect!

I would consider him my favourite movie composer, so many classics under his belt
something like the Once Upon A Time In The West score I've listened through on countless times
R.I.P

Ah man, I'm gutted. Simply the best movie score composer of all time.

Such a shame, truly a titan of the industry. Ecstasy of Gold is one of my favorite pieces of music of any genre.

RIP. An absolute giant of film scoring, possibly only comparable to John Williams (and even then, Maestro Williams might step aside out of deference to Morricone.)
Why is it that the losses seem so much sadder during a pandemic? Even when the cause of each individual's death isn't COVID-19?

His score of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly is one of my all-time favorites.

I saw a tweet somewhere over the last few days; apparently he wrote his own obit on his deathbed in his final hours... And I'm guessing we all saw the WaPo headline about his death, yes? (In case you can't see the embed - "Ennio Morricone, Italian composer who wrote ‘ah-ee-ah-ee-ah’ theme of ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,’ dies at 91" )

There's a cool Morricone theme that some may not be as familiar with. Face to Face is a good, underrated spaghetti western to boot.
Theme from The Great Silence. There's a theme and film not easily forgotten.
