I've never heard of this movie. I thought modern classic bi curious film The Guest was getting a sequel. I admit I'm a little disappointed.

I caught this one on Netflix a few weeks back and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. Despite it being mislabeled a horror (it's a thriller through and through), I enjoyed every moment of it and never found myself scanning my phone or checking the time. It breezed through its 100-minute run time, gave the viewer just enough and left room for a little more. I also went in with no information about the movie and found that was worth the while, as the movie kept building to the point that something just might not be quite right about the main character.
THAT BEING SAID, I'll pass on a sequel. What I found best about "The Guest" was the air of mystery surrounding the main character and his backstory, and I feel that a prospective sequel would do nothing but give us too much detail. In an interview, director Adam Wingard said: "The real technical logistics of how that character works was fully explained in an earlier version of the film, and we actually ended up taking a lot of that explanation out ... because what we discovered in those early test screenings whenever we showed people the more complete explanation of the program that David was in, people felt like they had too much information." I fear that a sequel would have no choice but to incorporate that explanation and detail and then it just becomes a cheap knock-off of the "Terminator" or "Bourne" franchise.
