"I'm only eating the skin, so the chicken's up for grabs." - Joey Tribbiani Been meaning to have this discussion and I just had some fried chicken, so now's a good time. What's the best part: The meat or the skin? What say you? If you need background material, here's a reference to previous FAN research on fried chicken. officialfan.proboards.com/thread/524852/havoks-bigotry-chicken-language-warning

If properly breaded and cooked to crispy perfection, the skin is food of the gods.

My gf eats the skin off pieces all the time but she's awesome and deserves them.

Depends if the chicken meat itself is marinated prior to frying...Popeyes spicy chicken is delicious from skin to meat.

The skin. The meat really doesn’t taste much different than any other forms of prepared chicken

the only reason to eat fried chicken specifically is because of the skin. if you just want the meat, there are easier and healthier ways of making it

I think it depends on what part of the chicken you're eating. For the legs and wings, I think it's the meat. For the breast and thigh, it's the skin. But all of it is delicious. I leave no trace of meat on those bone any time I eat chicken.
