They were good in the ring and had fun personalities. I hated how they had great vignettes and then never had much of a chance to further their characters when they debuted. It also didn't help that they lost the titles pretty quickly to Show and Kane. They eventually came along with their Hardy's feud but think they could have had a better run if they were handled better. The vignettes always intrested me, in kayfabe I was wondering how Murdoch and Cade ever would be partners considering that Cade seemed like a guy that Murdoch would hate.

I never really thought about it until now but, yeah, Cade and Murdoch were pretty damn underrated. I remember them having some pretty good matches with the Hardyz.

I really wasn't watching wrestling much at all during this decade, but I thought they were one of the more eye-catching and interesting acts in WWE at the time when it seemed to me that everyone looked like Chris Masters.

Now we are in a new era of the forum (have a read of the wwe current description if you missed it) what better way to start then talk about the 3x tag champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. I still remain surprised they won the belts three times! What do you think of this tag team? Any favourite moments? victims of the wrong era. tag-team wrestling on RAW in 2002-2005 were not treated well. Someone could make an entire thread about forgotten tag champs of the Ruthless Aggression era

I have been watching homemade DVDs of 2006 Raw and really digging this team. Certainly they were future stars if booked right. Trevor Murdoch always reminded me of a young Dick Murdoch. That’s probably what they were going for giving him the surname.

They were better than anyone gave them credit for at the time. Saw them live at a Raw once and also at a house show, and they probably put on the best matches those nights.
They were both excellent wrestlers and where Cade lacked charisma, Murdoch made up for that in spades. I don't recall any promos of theirs at all but Murdoch had LOADS of in-ring charisma. If they debuted now instead of 13 years ago, I think they'd have done a lot better.

I never understood this entrance attire I get Cade's, because during the time where they randomly split up on Heat after their first reign, Cade kind of leaned away from the redneck aesthetic and more into the Nashville country singer look. Murdoch, I don't understand why he's got a robe.

I believe Murdoch also sang Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" once and that was amazing.

They were clearly going with a Brokeback Mountain/Deliverance direction for Murdoch. I remember in their first vignette after Cade finished talking Murdoch looked at him very admiringly and said 'you know you said that real purty". He also said that someone was going to squal like a pig and then in another vignette was about to start talking about sodomizing their opponents before Cade cut him off. I guess that would be the reason why we were supposed to believe that they were together.

I was at a RAW when Trevor Murdoch did the Ace of Spades to Matt Hardy (I’m not 100% sure but I think it was the first time on TV) and it was hideous. Luckily it was the UK so a pre-tape and with editing it looked better on TV.

They were a good team and both decent wrestlers. I too remember Murdoch's random singing.
Also someone once said Cade was a jacked Butters from South Park and I could never unsee that.

During his super jacked/roided up phase (seriously did any wrestler's physique change as often and quickly as his?) when he was being billed at like 285 lbs. and JR was gushing over him, I thought he looked a lot like Dark Horse who was a boss in the classic early 90's Konami arcade game Sunset Riders. Should've had him come to the ring in a horse and say "You in heap big trouble!". Then every time he would lose he would go back out on the horse and say 'Me in heap big trouble!". Would've got him over huge.
