en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guardians_of_the_GalaxyI praised Jim Valentino in that What If? thread, and I was a big fan of his stuff on this lil series when he both wrote and drew it for Marvel in the early to mid nineties. Anyone else a fan? To my mind, it could be a fun series to bring back.. hey Madison..drop me a PM

I have a total of 2 issues of this series. And I honestly can't say I liked either of them. Sorry.

Makes sense. They were canceled. Maybe it was just me reading it.

Speakin of comic cliches.. one of my favorites is the whole, hero is looking at a character off panel on the cover with a distraught look on his face going " Not you! It can't be you! You're dead!"

Especially fun is the "Not You! It can't be you!" and they're holding the mask of said off-camera character.

The best one of those "Not You!" covers is Marvel Two-in-One #91, where the Thing is "on-camera" saying "Not You!" and over ol' Ben Grimm is this shadow that looks just like Batman's pointy ears!

Jim Valentino is my uncle's (mom's sister's husband) nephew. True story.
I met him once around the time when his Shadowhawk character had just come back for a 2nd or 3rd series (i forget.) He wasn't really a nice guy at all. My uncle used to go out and buy all of his comics and someone said "Don't you have a mailing list or something? You should send your uncle these comics every month instead of making him buy them" and he said "talk to my daughter, she's responsible for all that." and then the subject was just sorta dropped.
I got him to sign my Shadowhawk #1 and Shadowhawk II #1. They're probably not worth anything.

Yeah, I remember him mentioning his friend "Todd" but this was back before I ever knew what Spawn was for me to realize who he was talking about. Can't believe that was almost 14 years ago already.

Yup that was hilarious, he paid like three mill for McGwire's and then Barry breaks the record like two years later, making the mill ball esentially worth nada.
