Yo, is Gresham always this good? I know Yuta from MLW, but damn Johnathan impressed me.

Yo, is Gresham always this good? I know Yuta from MLW, but damn Johnathan impressed me. I can safely say that Gresham vs. Masashi Takeda from Barnett's Bloodsport last year is one of the absolute best sub-10 minute matches I've ever seen...and I don't just say that because I saw it live. Great first episode. I was pulling for Dalton in the opener, but I liked the story the guys told: Dalton clearly had the match won on points and the time limit was winding down towards a judges' decision, but Lethal did just enough work on the knee to weaken some of Castle's offense and quickly hit Lethal Injection. Gresham vs. Yuta was amazingly fluid and really felt brutal at times; wanted Yuta to sell the leg a little bit more after the Indian deathlock spot, but I can also buy that he was wired on adrenaline from being pissed at Gresham clearly bending the rules to keep the hold on for longer than the four count. These matches gave me the feeling Bloodsport did last year: I'm a huge mark for puro style strikes n' suplexes, but a great mat-based match can be hard to beat in terms of straight-up physical storytelling, plus it's a style that makes even the simplest strikes and throws suddenly feel so much more powerful. I know some people feel cold from wrestling like this given the lack of storyline behind the matches, but that's part of the beauty to me, the guys tell their own stories based around how they approach one another in the ring, instead. In a way, the lack of an audience almost helps that come across even better...though I'd obviously love to see these matches with people actually there in the arena, whenever the world is close to safe for that again. So yeah, if this is part of how ROH will continue to rebrand itself, and I thought they were making some really good progress from about mid-summer last year up until the pandemic froze everything, then I'm totally here for it.

Is this airing on their tv show or a streaming service only? Its on their weekly tv show. If the show doesn't air in your area you can watch for free on FITE.tv . New episodes appear at 7pm Central Mondays. Was hoping Dalton would win. But Lethal and him had a great match. Then Yuta vs Gresham was amazing. Yuta had a great match a few weekends ago in either Beyond or GCW. Gresham is a guy that should be on a larger stage. Surprised Impact hasn't tried to sign him yet.

Considering that he's been given the book for the soon to be revived women's division and likely will be leaned on for other parts of the show, as well, Gresham is likely going to be with ROH for a good while.

While it is great ROH is using a amazing talent like Gresham,I do wish he was in a higher profile fed so more wrestling fans could see how good he is.

I enjoyed the fact they had statistics of interest on the entrance graphics now. The pre match promos for each person also a good touch.

I’m waiting for ROH to start, what the hell is this bachelorette ripoff show with Matt Striker about starting a family?

Another great week of first round action. Probably the best delirious match I’ve seen in forever.
I love the booking of these first round matches so far.
Two former world champions.
Mentor vs. Student
Two guys that started together.
The only complaint I have is Quinn doesn’t have her hair in a ponytail.
Are those new glasses Ian Riccaboni? You’re looking very swell

I wore 6 pairs across 8 episodes, 8 different ties, five shirts, 5 suits. Tried to match but be different with what I had. I appreciate someone noticing, ha!

It sounds so obvious, but it was kind of fun to have Finlay and Rocky put on what felt more like a NJPW style match here; I like the approach most of the matches have had so far and what the other first round matches will probably be like, too, but it was good to see NJ style for a bit...plus, just good to see Finlay back in the ring, dude's looking strong and I'm sure he was dying to get back.

Another solid week. Not as good as the first two weeks. I was surprised woods got the win, Kenny’s closed fist cost him. I don’t know much about the guys in next weeks show but it should be another good week. Excited for the quarter finals.

Round two started this weekend.
I was really hoping Finley was gonna get the upset.
It’s great see Sydal in ROH & AEW after not seeing him for a year or two.
At this point they might as well go with Lethal vs. Gresham in the final.
They keep showing EC3 promos that has to be the first guy working both ROH and Impact in forever.
Traver getting his revenge on Vinny was a nice surprise.
