So is anything after Arkham City worth while? I've only played the first two and discussions about this game keep referring to Knight, Origins, and Knights. Did they fall short to any degree?

Arkham Knight is alright, though a definite step down from Asylum and City. It has Shiny New Toy syndrome where Rocksteady really rams use of the Batmobile down your throat and the controls for it are a pain in the butt. Never played Origins or Gotham Knights, though they're both done by a different developer than Rocksteady (WB Games Montréal) and GK is a separate continuity from the Arkham trilogy.

Yeah, Knight suffers from being a little too much, I think. I don't think I'm going to explain this well, but IMO games can suffer when they become too big and have too much going on for the game to support and that's Knight. Worth playing (especially at the kind of prices you can get it at now) but not as good as City. Plus I didn't like the Batmobile stuff but that's personal opinion.
Gotham Knights is, IMO, a fun little game that has a good story, but really repetitive play outside of the story. The sidequests are the same thing over and over and the four playable characters aren't as different from each other as they should be. It has some really good characterisation and little bits here and there for people who like the Batfamily and want to see them interact with each other in positive ways instead of the emo shitshow we often get. It's cheap to play (if not free with the game pass memberships) so again, I think it's worth it if you have the time. It's not as good as Arkham Knight though so I'd prioritise that one.

I agree about Knight being too big for its own good. It's also why I prefer the Zelda-ish level design of Asylum to the more open world City. Basically give me Asylum's design with combat and boss fights more like the sequels and that's my perfect Batman game.

Origins is really good. Buggy in some parts, but it's got the best bsos fights and (in my estimation) the strongest overall story of the original four games.

Origins' biggest issue was that because it shares about 50% of its map with Arkham City (albeit heavily modified) it felt like an expansion pack (rather than a fully developed game in its own right, and thus paying full price for it was somewhat galling. That said, it's easily got the best boss fights in the entire series, it has actual detective elements, and probably my favourite incarnation of Gotham itself.

I love Origins and Knight, they are both really good games in my book bar some bits and bobs, the batmobile was ok ish but far to much involved it though honestly I do love the DLC skins and the original 60s mobile is so cool to go around in. Gotham Knights is decent too. I am a big DC guy more then marvel so I will probably enjoy this game.

I get what you mean about Asylum though. It had an almost claustrophobic feel to it at times and it led to a really fun and intense game.

I'm surprised Origins never got a port/remaster for the PS4, Xbox One, etc like Asylum and City did. Maybe it's because it was the one game in the series Rocksteady didn't develop.

Given what a technical mess the Knight's ended up being on Switch, Origins probably would have been the better choice for it, even if it already got a Wii U port.

Origins has its issues, but it is pretty worth checking out on the cheap as kind of an Arkham City expansion pack.
I have tried several times and I just cannot with Knight. It's just way too much and the Batmobile is the goddamn worst.

So audio logs revealed that Superman was the one who believed that Brainiac was peaceful.
How bad a writer do you have to be to make him believe that?

Knight still looks incredible. I dunno why there are games released now that don't look as good.

It really is just astounding that this game is so utterly dead a month after launch. It's one month and two days since it came out and there are 237 people playing the thing on Steam right now and around 200 people watching it on Twitch right now. Even with how poorly the game sold in the first place that is just abysmal audience retention for a game that's supposed to be making people care for years to come.
I definitely always expected the game to fall flat on its face but I figured it'd at least limp along for a year or so. As it stands I doubt this thing's making it to October.
It bares noting that even though the $100 version had a first season pass thing included in it, the fine print said that that was "if available," so it is entirely possible that they don't even bother to release the first season (which still has zero indication of any news on it whatsoever) and those people are just SOL.

Even Blind Wave only did one and a half streams and stopped, in large part due to how many times the game crashed. For Blind Wave to completely give up on a co-op game with comic characters says a lot.

Oh, and the Arkham Knight knows that Batman won't kill, so he uses a bunch of unmanned drones to get blown up by the Batmobile.
Way to go, douche.

So after having the best-selling game of last year AND Suicide Squad being a horrifically embarrassing disaster (and while we're at it Multiversus also being a trainwreck), of course WB's announced they intend to move into focusing exclusively on live service games.
