I wasn't going to watch this but I'm glad I did. I probably won't watch it again but it's a reminder that WWE's ROSTER (not WWE themselves) is still fantastic All of this goes for me too. I was gonna watch during the week when I had nothing going on like I do with all WWE PPV's but due to the fact that there's a pandemic going on and on top of that California is on fire again and I can't leave the house anyway so I gave SummerSlam a shot. As I mentioned in another post I only knew a couple matches going in and my expectations for WWE are always low to start with. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. As I also said in the other post they had a good show with only half their roster. The guys I actually enjoy like AJ, Bryan, Owens and Hardy were nowhere to be found. It's insane to think just how deep their roster actually is when you can leave off so many guys and still deliver a solid show.

So traditionally, when NXT has a Takeover the night before WWE does a PPV, the NXT show is usually way more highly praised. I think this is the first time since that started that the WWE show has been more highly regarded than the NXT show.

I can't remember the last WWE PPV I've watched where I didn't curse the booking/outcome of one single match. Pleasantly surprised!

Really good show top to bottom. The Braun/Fiend finish was wack, but Roman saved it. Other than that, great stuff. Dom/Seth was MOTN, followed by Drew/Randy, with the women's matches not far behind.

Wasn’t last year’s Summerslam also well-regarded?
