Haven't seen this thread and thought it could be intreasting. Also it should be cool because you don't really know where any of these guys will go the first time in years. So on the front Page I'll post all the draft picks selected in the draft. And we'll just dicuss them as well.
First Round:
(1 Oakland Raiders-Jamarcus Russell QB/LSU (2 Detriot Lions-Calvin Johnson WR/Georgia Tech (3 Cleveland Browns-Joe Thomas LT/Wisconsin (4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Gaines Adams DE/Clemson (5 Arizona Cardinals-Levi Brown LT/Penn State (6 Washington Redskins-Laron Landry S/LSU (7 Minnesota Vikings-Adrian Peterson RB/Oklahoma (8 Atlanta Falcons-Jamaal Anderson DE/Arkansas (9 Miami Dolphins-Ted Ginn Jr. WR/Ohio State (10 Houston Texans-Amobi Okoye DT/Louisville (11 San Fransisco 49ers-Patrick Willis LB/Ole Miss (12 Buffalo Bills-Marshawn Lynch RB/California (13 St. Louis Rams-Adam Carriker DE/Nebraska (14 New York Jets-Darrelle Revis CB/Pittsburgh (15 Piitsburgh Steelers-Lawerence Timmons LB/Florida State (16 Green Bay Packers-Justin Harrell DT/Tennessee (17 Denver Broncos-Jarvis Moss DE/Florida (18 Cinncinatti Bengals-Leon Hall CB/Michigan (19 Tennessee Titans-Michael Griffin S/Texas (20 New York Giants-Aaron Ross CB/Texas (21 Jacksonville Jaguars-Reggie Nelson S/Florida (22 Cleveland Browns-Brady Quinn QB/Notre Dame (23 Kansas City Chiefs-Dwayne Bowe WR/LSU (24 New England Patriots-Brandon Merriweather S/Miami (FL) (25 Carolina Panthers-Jon Beason LB/Miami (FL) (26 Dallas Cowboys-Anthony Spencer DE/Purdue (27 New Orleans Saints-Robert Meachem WR/Tennessee (28 San Fransisco 49ers-Joe Staley OT/Central Michigan (29 Baltimore Ravens-Ben Grubbs OG/Auburn (30 San Diego Chargers-Craig Davis WR/LSU (31 Chicago Bears-

Wish i could join all of you but i got school at 12 then work at 4. I just hope that Brady Quinn doesnt go to Cleveland. I want him to have a great career, and Cleveland is no place to go for that.

Oakland and Cleveland are talking a trade for the first pick but, Oakland wants this years first, second and third rounders as well as next years first round. Oakland and New England are close to a trade for Randy Moss Seattle and San Fransisco are close to finishing a trade for Darrell Jackson (WR) and he is in San Fransisco now to take a physical. NFL Network has said that baring any major trades, the first the picks will be: - Oakland Raiders- JaMarcus Russell QB LSU
- Detroit Lions - Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech
- Cleveland Browns - Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin
As for the Broncos, I hope Alan Branch falls to us or David Harris is there to replace Al Wilson.

I disagree I could see Oakland taking Calvin Johnson and trying to get Beck in the second round. Also I don't see Cleveland passing up Brady Quinn.

I could still see Oakland taking Johnson as The Zombie Al Davis loves the deep ball and without Moss, they have no real deep threat but, they would be more likely to pick up Trent Edward who Lane Kiffin is more familiar with. Quinn to Cleveland is a huge stretch as the Savage and Crenell needs to win now and Joe Thomas is a safer pick. Plus they still love Frye.

Yeah I figured Edwards would be gone in the first round and I actually like John Beck of BYU better than Edwards. Also Frye? Um from I've seen I'm not impressed but I guess they might give him more time. Also true Joe Thomas could be the next Jonathan Ogden and if you need OL help it might be stupid to not take him.

Yeah, I am not to big on Frye either but, from all I have seen and heard, the staff in Cleveland still loves him and thinks with some help and RB and O-line that he could be awesome. A lot of people don't like Quinn and consider him the next Rick Meier so seeing him side to Miami at 9 wouldn't be a huge surprise. I have read that Beck is more ready now (and Detroit and Mike Martz especially) love the kid but, Edwards with some coaching could be amazing, it just that his injury history has some teams scared. I don't know who in the late part of the draft would need or take a QB though. Damn people in NY hate Brady Quinn.

I don't understand why, I like Quinn. I see him having a great career. Sure not a megastar career but a decent one plus I don't know about Jamarcus Russell. I mean he has one real good game and now out of nowhere he becomes the consensus no 1 pick? I don't get it.

I think the Steelers are looking to move Alan Faneca to get better draft position. Probably end up in Arizona. The Steelers need help just about everywhere, but especially in the secondary. Townsend and Washington are too old and too slow to be competitive. We're always looking for aggressive linebacker types and the masses of FWP haters are screaming for a running back.

The thing helping him out the most is having been in Weis's system. Russell has all the tools that people love (size, pocket awareness, arm strength) and had quite a few good games, just no one payed attention due to the hype around Quinn until they went head to head and LSU embarrassed Notre Dame.

I'd normally love for the Texans to get Peterson if he drops, but the only reason he would drop is due to teams scared off by his collarbone injury. They should have taken Bush last year. If they value the money they gave Schaub, they better grab Levi Brown.
