I went 40 years without tattoos too. So did James Hetfield from Metallica. Getting them at an older age is not a midlife crisis. I'm not trying to look young in the least bit. Yep. I can afford the good quality ones now. It's one of the nice things about reaching middle age. Also you don't have the stupid shit you would have gotten when you were younger. Had I gotten tattoos at 20, I would have a giant picture of Megatron on my back, the ICP Joker Cards, and my teenage sweethearts name on my body. Actually, ICP Joker Cards if done well could look really nice...

Just was going to say that, But Hogan did wear them on TV. I couldn't find a pic either. He also had the Konnan style flannel shirt jacket thing too. youtu.be/DtrBcPI9Q6s?t=241At 4:01, Hogan is wearing those pants at Nitro. I was actually looking for another clip, Souled Out 1999, I remember Hogan came out during the nWo beatdown of David Flair. He also wore these pants there too. That Hogan look is so ridiculous that its etched in my brain forever. Yeah I knew he wore them, just couldn't fine pictures but for sure screamed Midlife.

Also Chris Jericho. I just don't get someone who went 40 years without tattoos all of a sudden gets them all over his arms. His hole trolling and pretending like kayfabe is still alive so he has to heel it up all the time is so silly. I used to be a fan until 2011. These are the reasons I think Jericho is fantastic. Except for the hole trolling thing. What holes was he trolling?

Wasn’t on tv, but I just want to dunk on Hogan some more. What's the deal with his belt buckle?

Then I scrolled down and... well, lol.

Noone brought up the old age outlaws yet?? Arn Anderson, Terry Funk, Larry Zbyszko, Paul Orndorff. I don't think they qualify. Mid-life crisis would seem to imply that they are guys who are trying hard to appear young and edgy. Old Age Outlaws were four older guys who didn't gaf about being cool.

Hogan over the last 20 years has become a shame of wrestling.

I'd say DX when they returned in the mid-2000s. They were just embarrassing. Same here...guys acting like the they did in '97 as 'rebels' & pulling sophomoric pranks, trying to be cool...except they weren't 'anti-establishment', they were the establishment.

They could have done something decent in mid 2000's when DX reformed as the could do an old school parody/rip off, where HHH/HBK are the Vince Vaughan/Will Ferrel/Luke Wilson and they get a bunch of the younger talent say Carlito/Hardys/Etc as "pledges" and they take over the DX name'/legacy and reboot it with younger talent

I’d also likely have some really dumb tribal stuff.

Hogan trying to look cool in 99 was so great I went 40 years without tattoos too. So did James Hetfield from Metallica. Getting them at an older age is not a midlife crisis. I'm not trying to look young in the least bit. I'm pretty sure Jericho started getting tattoos as he was shifting focus away from wrestling to music, and thus had less incentive to maintain a particular look.

Current day Bullet Club.
KENTA & Yujiro are both less than 6 months away from being 40. Gedo, Jado & Dick Togo are all in their 50s making them much older than both Hogan & Bischoff at the peak of the nWo.
Obviously the likes of EVIL, Jay White, Chase etc. are all still young guys & the level of cringe is nowhere near the nWo but still a similar principle.

Not the originals, but I definitely thought of the NWO and DX reunions in the 2000s and 2010s. DX 2006 was particularly embarrassing, made worse by neither wrestler actually being that old at the time yet still acting in a very mid life crisis-y sort of way. We should all be so lucky as to have our midlife crisis involve getting sent to another dimension populated by little people
