linkYeah, Karl Anderson was all lined up for a big singles push for NJPW before WWE re-signed him. Also amazingly Moxley almost didn't do the G1 Climax last year. We basically almost lost perhaps the best run (and individual match) in the tournament. I always love Jon Moxley interviews, he just seems like such a cool guy.

Glad we did get him in the G1, it was fun seeing him there. Karl Anderson said the exact same thing about working against Moxley at Wrestle Kingdom, so I would say that is pretty much confirmed.

I mean, even if it was just Moxley saying it, I think that I'd take it at face value. Moxley's not exactly known for his reputation as a bullshitter. I think it's a shame that barring some miracle we won't see Moxley in the G1 Climax, there are so many matches I'd love to see him have. Okada, Tanahashi, Ospreay, Ibushi(probably the one I most want to see), Zack Sabre Jr. He really showed how good he could be in the G1 last year

For several years he worked more matches than anyone else in the company. The part I questioned most was him adapting to New Japan's style and he did a great job of it, while still being himself.

He's legitimately one of the most versatile guys in the industry, period. A high school standout athlete who was trained by Les Thatcher and Nigel McGuiness, but got big with garbage wrestling, promos, and psychology.

I think that's what made Moxley's G1 Climax run (and run for the last year or so in general) so special. I was vaguely aware that he was once Jon Moxley, but I was only familiar with Dean Ambrose. Most people didn't know how good Jon Moxley was. Last summer, he taught us all the hard way. I've never seen a star with so much hype, where the hype sold him short, but here we are.
