If you remember classic TNA, then you know this voice well from PPV openings.

That sucks. Barry was pretty much the voice of TNA during those early PPVs. This was the last video he did for the company.
Rest In Peace, man.

No!!!
Before the Nashville fireworks a couple years ago he read a patrioted speach while the nashville orchsta played in the backround. It was so badass.
I still use his voice when ever I'm telling my friends whats going on in Impact.

It's no joke when I say those promo packages helped my get into TNA back in 2005. Just so much more exciting than what WWE was giving out.
RIP.

I was just thinking about him the other day. An incredible voice that made everything feel so big and epic.

Going to miss him. His voice reminded me of James Earl Jones'.
RIP.

Barry Scott is probably the most consistently entertaining person in TNA history. The big epic promos gave even the mediocre shows some hype.

He's primarily been a radio DJ..... and oh goodness, reading his Wikipedia page I realize I've been listening to his nationally syndicated Lost 45's show on Sunday nights for a few months now.
And unless he's had a new host in there filling in for him during the last several months, his radio voice sounds NOTHING like this.
RIP sir.

Sad to hear. I loved his promos. It gave as much of an identity to TNAs brand as the 6 sided ring. Hope his family are okay.

I also remember him doing various PSA's for radio over the years, especially one for Arbor Day. Myself and my friends played that regularly back when I was on college radio (I miss you, Capture Suplex Radio!) and spinning it off into various jokes.
I'm gonna miss him, but I don't think he'll be forgotten any time soon.
Rest in peace, Mr. Scott.

His voice carried TNA promos in the mid 2000s. RIP

Every TNA PPV started with some Coors Lights, some chicken wings, and Barry Scott hyping it up. It's some of the better memories of that decade. RIP.

This sucks. He really was such a big part of what made TNA, in its better moments, seem more legitimate.

You could be watching the most Russo thing on Earth, with the underbelly of the card being the C-est of the C-listers, and right at the start he would sell you a parted sea and give you the faith to cross the line. Heaven just received one hell of a pitchman.

Ah, so a Wikipedia editor (not me!) just assumed it was the same person, as Lost 45's and TNA are both mentioned on the one Barry Scott page - or rather were, since someone else has edited that TNA mention out overnight...
