Nathan Peterman is making more guaranteed money than Cam Newton this year. That's just an injustice. There's no way Newton should be making less money than the f***ing Peter Man. The Peter Man should be the highest paid athlete in all of sports. Why? Because he's the Peter Man.

Every dollar of that contract is worth it just to laugh at Gruden. I don’t blame teams for being wary of Cam this past offseason though. Dude looked totally washed in every way last year. Broken, and with awful body language to go with it. He just didn’t seem into it anymore. If he continues his season and gets cold-shouldered again? That’s shenanigans to the ultimate degree.

twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1308518649167314949Now it’s $100,000 fines for Sean Payton and Jon Gruden for not wearing masks last night, and $250,000 fines for their teams. In all, five HCs and teams fined over $1.7 million dollars for not wearing masks in Week 2.

Niners replace Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas with Ziggy Ansah and Dion Jordan. Both former top 5 picks. Both not nearly as good.
I don’t truly think the Niners will be bad enough for Lawrence, but give me a bad season and Trey Lance. They need a high-end QB (or at least one with that potential) to compete in the future with Kyler Murray and Russ Wilson. JimmyG ain’t it.

The Chargers team doctor punctured Tyrod Taylor's lung by accident.
I wonder if Dr. Chao is still with the team.

As both a Niners fan and a Buckeyes fan I wouldn't be mad at it if they took a look at Justin Fields.

I'm just remembering that the new playoff format is a thing. I guess it's not terrible, but I thought the old setup was perfect.

I don’t like the addition of a seventh playoff team in each conference, because 99 times out of 100, that’ll be an undeserving, 9-7ish Wild Card team that’ll be nothing more than cannon fodder for a division champion to roll over en route to the Divisional Round. But what I do like is the value it imparts on winning the top seed in each conference, as now only one team in the AFC and one team in the NFC get a first-round bye, so the race for the first seed is going to be an all-out, season-long brawl to week 17. (I also like the idea of watching six games in two days on Wild Card weekend)

It’s early on the season but Newton is going to make himself a lot of Money next season if he stays healthy and keeps improving in this offense. I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s around 40 total TDs at the end of the season.

I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s around 40 total TDs at the end of the season. New England is in the driver's seat and they're going to be the ones to get the first bite at the apple with Cam Newton. There's already been a healthy bit of discussion within the New England media circles two weeks into the season about whether the Patriots should sign Newton to a lucrative long-term extension. The question now is whether the Patriots and Newton are a one-year fling or a long-term relationship. If this is a season-long dalliance, the Patriots can run Newton into the ground with 10-plus carries per game and he can account for 400-plus yards of offense on his own because they don't have to worry about his future, and he can go out and put on a show every Sunday because he's playing for his next contract. But if the Patriots like what they see and envision Newton as the quarterback of the (foreseeable) future, they might want to ease up on how much they're using him and maybe rely on him for only four or five carries per game instead of 10 to 15, so he's not broken down for 2021 and beyond.

Pats would be crazy to commit any type of big money to Cam now
You got him in a perfect position. He needs to prove himself to still remain a viable player in the league and you got him for dirt cheap even if he hits all his incentives
Besides that, it is only two games. This is a long season where shit can go left fast

Is it just me or is Belichick like, much happier this season than he usually is?

I think at some point this season Alex Smith becomes the starting QB for Washington

I was going to make a joke comparing watching Buffalo verses Los Angelas to watching a game of cat and mouse, after the cat had caught the mouse and was toying with it.
Then we left right as that non-interception happened and in the twenty minutes it took us to drive to the movie theatre they’d blown it.
What the hell happened???
