Out of the 2, PS5 will be first, but probably both eventually, as I have PS4 and XB1 now

I've been a playstation guy since PS1, but at this point, I can't really see myself buying a new console until PS4 becomes obsolete. It would be like upgrading a smartphone. May be sleeker, but will it be that much of a difference? Aye, that's the deal with me. I only upgraded to the Xbox One in November 2018, so I don't expect I'll upgrade again for at least 2-3 years.

Hardly on my radar right now. Big backlog on the PS4.
So probably a PS5 eventually if the digital stuff carries forward.

Honestly, I think this next gen is my hop off point. This gens been all yearly repaints (ie.cod), battle royales (fortnite, pubg), and releasing unfinished products full of bugs then gouging customers for the rest. I'm sick of the gaming industry, and find myself tryna to build a system that can hold openbor, parsec, and discords cuz the dark web has way better selection (ie. TMNT rescuepalooza, and final fight gold for starters)

I doubt I get either at all. Might get whatever Nintendo does as their next console. But between my backlog of games and stuff I got plenty to play.

I should add, I currently plan on buying Series X next spring but that is 100% dependent on me getting a 4K TV like I plan this Black Friday. If not, I’ll hold out with my XB1 until I upgrade TV’s.

May be sleeker, but will it be that much of a difference? I wait for a few years for developers to really take advantage of the hardware and let the good and bad games filter themselves out at a bargain

May be sleeker, but will it be that much of a difference? I'm the same way. I just got a PS4 last year, so that will tide me over for awhile. There's a big library of great games on the thing and with Spider-Miles also coming out for the PS4, the first real "must get" game for me on the PS5 that I know of is Final Fantasy XVI. Knowing Square Enix, that game won't be out for quite some time.

another point someone else brought up... like getting it day one usually just has you just sitting around collecting dust... or you try to struggle through games like the Fighter Within

Might as well answer my own poll.
If my flatmate is willing to go half, we’ll likely get a PS5 for the living room so I can keep the PS4 in my room to go through the backlog.
If he backs out from that? Series S for the moment. That Game Pass is way too enticing. Especially since with that, I’ll likely never get a game for the console ever again and play through the stuff on there.

I always go with whoever is releasing Final Fantasies. But the Mass Effect remaster...could make me buy both.

I'm happy with my Xbox One but if and when I do upgrade, I will get a Series S.
Microsoft just does it for me with Game Pass and it's user interface.

I’ll wait until a major game announcement before deciding. So Snitsky has my vote. Same here. I'm honestly for the ecosystems to mature before I pick either up, much like I did with the PS4.

Xbox, I'll be trading in my Xbox One X for the Series X. Built a pc a few months ago and I have gamepass.
I'm good.
Might get a PS5 down the road but no rush.

I'll get a PS5, but not right away as it's launching in Canada at $650 for the one with the disk drive and $500 Canadian for the digital version. Which is a chunk of change I'd rather be spending on the essentials right now.

PS5 once either Harry Potter or FFXVIII come out.
I may get it earlier if digital carries over and PS4 PS+ games work on PS5.
