So we’ve had our presentations, our price points and launch dates so I might as well try and bring a broader discussion to its own thread.
In the blue corner, your reigning and defending champion, Sony with the PlayStation 5. Launching with Spider-Miles and Demon’s Souls and a pretty decent PS4 backlog on Plus (and the same day as Cyberpunk 2077). Not exactly deep but it has some big exclusives for 2021 with God of War: Ragnarok, Final Fantasy XVI and Deathloop.
In the green corner, the challenger, Microsoft with the Xbox Series X/S. Nothing as stand out at launch but what it doesn’t have for launch, it has with Game Pass, one of the deepest game libraries ever assembled of Original Xbox, 360 and One games and it’s backwards compatible with all of them. It also has the return of Fable and a new Rare game for 2021 and Double Fine and Obsidian’s first exclusive titles since their respective acquisitions. A marathon not a sprint player potentially.
As we head closer to November, both sides will be promoting themselves and neither have shot themselves in the foot yet. What are we getting and who do you have?

I’ll wait until a major game announcement before deciding.
So Snitsky has my vote.

I voted for the last option because I thought it said Switch. (In all likelihood, I'll buy the Xbox at some point in the future since I already went Xbox One & Xbox 360 the last 2 times.)

Series X myself, but not opposed to eventually grabbing a PS5, never did get a PS4 so there’s a few exclusives I never played

O just finally got a PS4 last year. I'm not buying either of these systems for awhile.

Snitzky
Untill the wider array of games becomes known
Right now their are some interesting titles but nothing that would get me to buy either console anytime in the next year.

PS5: New Spider-man, God of War, and Final Fantasy XVI. So I will continue with Sony this generation and whatever Nintendo is cooking up.

If I hadn't been laid off for 6 months I'd buy a PS5

I didn't even see much use out of my PS4 because none of the exclusives seemed that good to me, and my TV is in an impractical spot on a shelf set due to space limitations so I'll always trend to the PC version of something.
Honestly this generation isn't really doing it for me either, and I'm mostly looking at upgrading my PC from my massive bottleneck of a Skylake CPU to a Ryzen setup, then getting a 3070 to replace my 1080

Playstation has Spider-Man, God of War, Final Fantasy, and Horizon. So easy choice for me.

PS5 + Switch. Haven't really seen any reason to buy an Xbox Series X besides convenience.
Granted, I'm waiting awhile to get a PS5. At least until Final Fantasy XVI comes out.

Xbox Series X, followed by whatever Nintendo cook up in the coming years.
Microsoft and Nintendo would have to get out of the gaming industry altogether before I consider another PS.

I'm still happy with my Switch. Might buy a PS5 in a couple years.

I was ready to hop back into gaming w/ the PS5 until a friend explained to my dumb ass I’d need WiFi, which doesn’t work in my sitch, so none. But man does the PS5 sound/look sexy.

I've been a playstation guy since PS1, but at this point, I can't really see myself buying a new console until PS4 becomes obsolete. It would be like upgrading a smartphone. May be sleeker, but will it be that much of a difference?
