He also looks really happy to be on a series where his co-stars aren't complete and utter f***wits “Look, this show might not be the best written but Melissa Benoist isn’t going to strop off in a huff, quit the show suddenly and go talk to Mario Lopez about Tiger Blood so I’m just happy to be here” "Jesse Rath may talk to me about wrestling, and Katie McGrath may ask us to lie about her birthday, but I can deal with that." That shit was on par with Comics Lex did in his storyline in Action Comics. Lex achieves godhood and the universe is going experience pure happiness and bliss. But there's a problem, Superman is apart of the universe and well....yeah. Lex pisses it all away to try and kill Superman one more time. Yeh that is Lex in a nutshe. There is one animated movie that is pretty bad but has one great line ,after Lex loses his superman like power lex says he could help everyone with it. Superman just says basically "No you wouldnt, you could have helped humanity all along" I know you didn't just call All-Star Superman bad.

Cryer was a good pick from the start, nostalgia boosted by the fact that "he'd already been a Luthor before." If anything I'm not crazy about the super-uber-usage of Luthor in modern stories (ditto with the Joker), mainly because I've gotten tired of it, but part of Cryer's talent/charm is he does so well with it that I hate him even more because he's making me enjoy something I didn't want to enjoy. lol Yeh that is Lex in a nutshe. I seem to recall watching the animated All-Star Superman movie and not.....quite enjoying it, even though I read and loved the comic. I've actually avoided seeing the movie again since because I did not understand how this happened.

He's fantastic. I've so far only seen him in the Crisis special, but that was certainly enough to sell me. He walks a perfect line between slimy and sophisticated.

Lex owns half of Metropolis. Lex is a constant presence in Superman's world, doesn't matter if he's front and center, or working behind the scenes.

I liked the way that Superman TAS used him where even if he wasn't the actual threat, he was involved one way or another. Sometimes even helping Superman because it either made him look good or because it was grudgingly in their best interest. He's a different sort of villain from Joker because of that, whereas Joker tends to be an agent of pure chaotic evil.
I also like the Elseworlds and other Earths that explore when Lex and Superman are actually friends. Because unlike Batman and Joker, there's room for a take on a good Lex while still distinctly being Lex in other areas like his intelligence and position in life. Hell, the Arrowverse Lex and Superman were friends before they became sworn enemies.
"Jesse Rath may talk to me about wrestling, and Katie McGrath may ask us to lie about her birthday, but I can deal with that."
Look, the only reason they have to lie about Katie's birthday is because she is literally immortal. Just like Keanu Reeves.

At the very least, Lex hasn’t been so overexposed to the point that they made up an evil Superman who’s basically Lex Luthor (ala Batman Who Laughs).
