You could say their 15 minutes of fame is up.
I thought the market was moving towards long form story telling?

Oh it's legit, it's just hoe modern Silicon Valley works now. Come up with a mediocre idea, pump hundreds of millions into it, value it at billions regardless of whether it not it's making a profit, then float it on the stock market to make it's eventual failure someone else's problem. There are people in Silicon Valley right now funding ideas that can essentially be boiled down to “Rich person version of Bus” or “rich person version of tunnel”. Both of those are stupid, they could just use the money to fund the transport networks to improve them but why do that when you want your company to be known as “innovators”? Well, it makes a change from 'What if X had a smartphone app and ignored all regulations and employee protections?'

I really want a scenario now where the company dies and the assets are sold for a dollar to one of the executives mocked in the first run of Dreamworks movies just for a laugh.

Michael Eisner is probably having a hearty chuckle about all this... and I could easily see him being that petty in offering a dollar >_>

Seriously... Could we pool funds together and buy a Quibi show?

Seriously... Could we pool funds together and buy a Quibi show? pretty sure all the shows on Quibi are creator owned... which was seen as one of the positives.

Elsewhere, Michael Eisner finds himself laughing for an unknown reason because even he didn't know Katzenberg was part of Quibi or that Quibi was even a thing. Oh, what a laugh.

Which I am on the fence about, for one Eisner should never experience joy. But, Katzenberg deserves every setback possible.

He just assumed that episode of Family Guy was airing on TBS again. The one where he says "See you at Disneyland! ...BRING MONEY!"

So... if I were to get a free trial, I wouldn't have to pay for anything?

also another good reason this died... quibi was designed specifically to screw over writers.
9:59 and it counts as a shortform episode and writers get no residuals.

I enjoyed the hell out of the first batch of Reno 911 episodes during my free trial. Thought about paying for a month to watch the second batch of episodes when they were released but just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Hope they show up somewhere else.

Even without the pandemic I can't see a scenario in which this thing was ever going to be a success.

twitter.com/Nash076/status/1319083269586096132 (not embeded due to an F bomb) but Yeah... this... no tv/computer access... not really any content people want... and things split into 10 minute episodes despite not being shot that way... everything about Quibi was dumb from the jump.

The big thing from this from a game show perspective is that Legends of the Hidden Temple reboot is back on the market. Methinks that Nickelodeon will get it or it will end up being in development hell without a home.
