The xbox series x goes on pre order tomorrow. I doubt I would have any luck being able to pre order one online, as it will be a mad house. Stores as also starting pre orders tomorrow, and my local gamestop will be opening an hour early for pre orders. I have called 3 local stores and all places seem to admit they are only getting a few XBOX's right now for pre order, and im debating on getting there super early and waiting. Has anyone ever camped out or went several hours before the place open for pre order? The town is about 34k people, and If the Gamestop is getting 8-10 systems only, Im afraid I wont get one, unless i got SUPER EARLY and wait outside the store. I dont think people will be camping overnight, but if they open at 11, if I get there at 7am, do you think thats to early? Just curious, if anyone else has experiance on this.

People will definitely be camped there over night to make sure that they’re the first to get the newest Xbox. If you’re not prepared to do the same, then don’t bother going, you’ll just be disappointed.

Yeah, never buy first generation tech. Yup, both Sony and MS have had issues with launch consoles. The most famous of these being Xbox 360's red ring of death. This year, for me, though there doesn't feel like there's a killer game like a Mario 64, Tetris, or Soul Calibur.

Yeah, never buy first generation tech. I always wait 6 months to a year after launch to buy the next gen console. Give them some time to make sure the bugs are cleared.

Not only that, I like to have more than about 2 new games when I buy a console. I normally buy in the 8-12 month window after release. Hardware ans software are normally somewhat "figured out" by then.

I learned my lesson about pre orders back when God of War II came out. I'm waiting at least six months, so I can build up a nice little knot.

I just don't play new games as much as I used to. I've been going back and playing older 360 and One games this year. So I'll definitely be waiting to next year Black Friday or maybe the year after to get one of the new consoles. Probably when they start making games I want to play exclusive to the next-gen.

I rarely preorder things but it sounds like it's a disaster to get a Series X.
I will be waiting until my financial situation improves before I get a Series S because I remember paying $400 for my Nintendo Switch from a scalper and I'm not doing that shit again.

I got the PS4 about 4-6 months after release and have had ZERO problems with it and it still works today. I want to take advantage of the XBox All Access to get the Series X, so hopefully that will still be available after a couple months as I assume I won't be able to find one until after Christmas.

I did the midnight launch for PS4 and mine's still going fine, I somehow managed to get a PS5 preorder but had no luck with the XSX.
If you do just be ready for potential bugs, hardware f***ups, and a dry library of exclusive games for a long while. The plus side is if you get a good system you don't have to deal with the scalper season after it releases if it's a situation like the Wii and PS4 early days.

I got a Day One Xbox one... a year later >_>
It's still works fine but I don't really use it all that much.
I'm glad the DAY ONE! editions of things that they tried pushing this generation didn't stick.

If you are going to go with gamepass it's actually cheaper in the long run to get a Series X by doing the monthly payments.

The only Day One systems I’ve ever gotten are 3DS ones, strangely.
The one I have now is the New 3DS XL I’ve had since launch and I’m completely satisfied with it.
I’m honestly considering pre-ordering a Xbox Series S and just making that a Game Pass console as I have no real use for a CD drive with it and I literally won’t need to buy another game ever again after I sort that out.

Maybe I'm just a lucky dude, but I have literally had 10-15 Xbox one's and 360's over the years including the different versions, and I got the Xbox One and 360 on either launch day or within a few weeks, and I have never had any problems with my systems. Long story short, I went to the gamestop at 6am ( 4 hours before opening) and there was only 1 guy there. I would say by 8am, there were 10-15 people in line. This store only got 6 X's AND 0 S's. There was a big sign stating this, and even the manager at 9:30 came out and told the line " at this time, we only have 6 systems for preorder, if your after the first 6 people in line, and your hoping for a X-- we cant help you"---You would think most people would leave, nope..I would say 10-15 people stayed in line, hoping somehow the manager was lying or had more back there. Lucky for me, I was number 2 and will have a XBOX series X on launch day.
I will admit though, I'am a bit curious about if people will be trying to purchase it from me the day of. I know people will be posting them online etc to make quick easy cash, but in years past for older systems, I have always had someone offer me 100-200 more than I paid for it, to purchase it...and i know ebay and stuff is insane already.

I wanna know how to buy someone's cancelled pre order. Do you really want to pay $1,500 for a $500 PS5?

I think the interesting thing about the first generation tech talk is that people don’t mention the huge Joycon drift issue with the Switches. I don’t think I’d ever get a Lite just because it’s still so prevalent even today.

I have never pre-ordered a system and I think that's one of the best things for my own sanity. I did get a Switch on launch day, but that was out of sheer luck.
