Okay, so yesterday afternoon, I decided to head up to the poconos to visit my mother and father for a while. Now they live inside a "gated community", meaning you have to check in at a gate. Okie dokie, no problem. So I get clearance to proceed, and go about trying to find their house (they recently moved there). When I had figured I was going the wrong way, I made a u-turn, and headed back, when all of a sudden I see red and blue lights behind me. "Oh great, a cop got me" was my thought. So I pull over, and the gentlemen comes to my window, and asks if I knew why he stopped me, I said "no officer, not sure". He comented about my illegal u-turn I made, and asked for my credentials, when I noticed his jacket said "public safety" on it. So I asked to see his badge. He explained he doesn't carry a badge. I asked if he was a police officer, and he said "no sir, im community security".
Im like, oookay, so if your not a cop, what right do you have to conduct a traffic stop? He said he had the right to enforce the rules of the HOA. I explained to him that rules and LAWS were to different things, and that impersonating a police officer was against the LAW. He again asked for my credentials, and I said no, Your not a police officer, your a private citizen, and you might steal my identity. He then asks me to step out of the car, at which point I tell him to A- get a real cop down here, or B- Let me go, because the 8.00 an hour hes making is not worth getting sued over. So I started my car and went on my way. He got behind me AGAIN, lights and sirens going off. So I called the local police, and had them meet me at the exit gate to clear the situation, which we finaly did, seems old rent-a-cop disn't want anything to do with a real cop.
So the moral of the story is, I HATE security guards, and they should get a real job, god damn dissapointment's to their mothers.
Sorry had to vent.
