It's some bitter irony that professional bodybuilders tend to not claim being natural anymore, being reduced to supplement and sports wear companies as potential sponsors due to everyone knowing they are on gear, while the superhero movie industry is pretty much an extension of "say your prayers, take your vitamins" era WWF. It's an all around shady situation/business with steroids.

Their job isn’t acting anymore, it’s going to the gym twice a day and taking steroids, really. Have we got an award for most ripped junkie? No? No point, we know who’d win that.” - Gervais

I dunno as I get older I care less and less about steroids. We all applauded Barry Bonds until suddenly we decided we hated him.

I guess I'm more liberal towards PED use than many wrestling fans - as long as you don't lie about it. When actors talk about eating chicken, broccoli and rice all day every day, training six times a week, two times a day, having some kind of "special" training methods, that gets my blood boiling. It's toying with mostly young impressionable men. They'll overtrain, eat a bland diet still with too many calories and wonder why they never look like Thor. If you don't want to admit, at least try to not lie about it.

I held out watching till this week so I watched all the episodes over the course of this week hence why this is my first post in the thread ha
I was surprised McDevitt agreed to appear. I think it’s smart because you can control the narrative but still surprised since that’s like one step away from Vince appearing
Also man I don’t know how the federal government thought that trial was gonna go based on what the charged him with.
And I can totally see why McMahon loves McDevitt as a lawyer. Very intelligent, low key at times but bombastic when needed

The steroid talk has me thinking... I wanna see one Olympics where all the athletes are absolutely juiced to the gills just to see what happens. Like I want a shot putter to launch the shot into orbit or a runner to break the land speed record because they're whacked out of their minds on every possible PED they could smuggle into the host country.

One thing I definitely was reassured of is that Jerry McDevitt is a guy that I’d want on my side. Also, f*** Phil Musnick. That guy is still a self righteous prick.

Damn, just started the steroid trials ep. I feel like these guys sold out by interviewing Phil Mushnick. Unlike the Meltzers of the world who have bias in their writing and may look down on WWE, this guy looks down on wrestling fans in general. This isn't setting well with me.
Anyway, The Warlord looks damn good.

What I got is that this episode as basically an puff piece for McDevitt The whole trial seemed like a bad joke. What I got is if it trial wasnt negligent , it was just plain out bought. In a fair world Vince would have gotten those 17 years

In some ways I was surprised that Jerry mcdevitt agreed to appear but In some ways I wasn’t because I mean when the governments main witnesses is f***ing Nailz you knew it was second rate operation.

At least Jerry was a defense attorney of Vince and not someone who was a serial killer. He comes across as having no conscience, he shows no emotion until the very end, I'm sure he'd willingly defend the worst serial killers if the check clears. I'm sure he knows the worst of the worst that Vince or his wrestlers have done. I'm actually surprised it took Vince so long, until 1997, to show his true self to the fans.
Hogan's lies have gotten to the point that he doesn't even think he's lying but in the early 90s you can see it on his face with Arsenio that he knows he's lying and may have felt bad about it.

They generally justify it by saying they believe in the rules of law. Everyone deserves a right to a fair trial and proper attorney, regardless of the crimes accused of. It would be pretty f***ed up as a society if we denied people accused of heinous crimes access to proper legal representation, as self representation almost never goes well because you don’t understand the law the same as a lawyer.

I was thinking of an SNL skit as well. The 1994 How Much You Bench, very hilarious sketch.

The West has a lot of bad ideas about how the legal system ought to function, making sure people get a fair trial isn't one of them.

Apparently Jerry doesn't like to be reminded he did the job 😂

I wonder if they are going to mention Savage burying Hogan on Radio WWF, I will always believe Vince was behind that, he wanted to discredit a would be witness. This was around the time Elizabeth left Savage and was staying with Hulk and Linda so, I'm sure he did that on his own.

IMO I may be biased because the 98 home run chase was a fond memory for me as a kid, but I always felt McGwire and Bonds deserved HOF consideration just based on their clutch abilities and batting eyes. The juice definitely aided them but if muscles was all it took to be successful in MLB, Chris Davis would have lasted way longer in Baltimore. With wrestling, I just want the talent to be healthy and responsible more than anything.
