I was thinking of 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', with the band seemingly walking around Las Vegas during a break.
Or the 'You Oughta Know' video which I think was made for $16.
Any other examples?

Let's get the obvious one out of the way:

I thought "Tell Me a Lie" was an amazing son but shouldn't have been used for Michaels. It is more of a sweet song for the passing of a loved one rather than someone a jerk-like as Michaels in the 1990s.

Let's get the obvious one out of the way: Someone really hated that dude when they came up with that.

Good songs, but odd videos.
For "Weak," I get what they were trying to go for with the boxing theme, but still, it's kind of cringe-worthy. I even felt this as far back as when I was 6 or 7.
As for "Twisted," same deal with the detective feeling something for the criminal, which kind of goes with the song. However, one thing that always got me was that the woman got shot, but she still managed to hang on to the ladder? If she was lifeless, the body would have likely dropped.

AC/DC has an amazing catalogue but most of their videos are kinda bland, or just concert footage. With the exception of Big Gun, which is a masterpiece.

I personally like this song, but man the video is often on many many "worst music video" lists for good reason.

I personally like this song, but man the video is often on many many "worst music video" lists for good reason. It’s an epic and hella dramatic song, but the visuals with the band are super campy. This song needs one of those updated animated videos with some cool adventure stuff.

Metallica's videos for Wherever I May Roam, Sad But True, and Nothing Else Matters are just random clips of concert footage and them chillin and stuff.
Just imagine if those songs had videos as good as Enter Sandman and Unforgiven.

I'm still not convinced the guy saying... yeah just mime the instruments it'll look great... wasn't just f***ing with the band...

Most of the videos for Bat Out Of Hell 2 were pretty decent, but "Objects In The Rear View Mirror" got a total disservice. Michael Bay at his Michael Bay-iest, really tonally dissonant for a slow, tragic song about the dark moments in life. A verse about losing a childhood friend turns into a crop duster exploding dramatically, a verse about paternal abuse is shown through baseball metaphors, and the one about a lost love (which is admittedly fairly horny in the song itself) is shot with full on soft porn vibes.

To be honest, I don't think I've seen a music video that I actually do like. I guess I just prefer coming up with my own images in my head when I listen to a song.

for purposely bad I like Everything's Ruined by Faith No More Yeah, I don't even know if the budget for that one was $100 and a 6 pack of Schlitz. It's actually a wonderful thing to have in the middle of big productions like Epic, Falling to Pieces, and A Small Victory (Surprise, You're Dead! also is done on the cheap, but not as spectacularly cheap).

Let's get the obvious one out of the way: I only heard and saw this video for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I thought that there must have been more to it than him prancing around his bedroom. Turns out that there isn’t...

Pretty much a lot of Grim Reaper's catalogue falls into this category, so much so that their lead guitarist personally gave Mike Judge the a-oaky to continue riffing them on Beavis and Butthead.

Honestly most Eminem music videos were either painful attempts at comedy or so edgy Zack Snyder would ask him to tone down.

Before I knew what the lead singers looked like, this is who I pictured they were as a kid whenever I heard their songs on the radio: Ozzy Osbourne - Kano from Mortal Kombat Alice in Chains - Ken from Street Fighter (probably because I had a GamePro issue mentioning one of their songs being used in the animated movie) Soundgarden - Weird Al Foo Fighters - Guy from Final Fight Green Day - Angus from the movie of the same title Van Halen (David Lee Roth version) - Valhallen from Justice Friends Metallica - Green Lantern from Super Friends Pearl Jam - Tommy from Power Rangers
