I did not care for Connery in the role, but I liked the side characters. Peeta Wilson was dull as dirt now that I think about it though. I know she definitely was better than that. Wilson was a late replacement for Monica Bellucci, who chose to commit to Tears of the Sun instead (which, ironically, made less than half of what League of Extraordinary Gentlemen made). I vaguely recall Wilson being decent in La Femme Nikita, so I know she's definitely capable of better than her performance in this.

Doesn't the comics have a black transvestite alien or something?

Yet another reason to hate this movie

The art was the only good thing about the comic. I saw the film and was like meh it's not horrible. Got the TPB of the comic cheap. REad it and wow so far it's the only bad thing from Moore I have read. Ended up giving the TPB away to a friend. I will say a large reason I hate the art is that it's the same guy who does Marshall Law, which is also mostly garbage but for completely different reasons. Yea Kevin O'Neil. And Marshal Law was one of the best series of the 80s/90s.

And Marshal Law was one of the best series of the 80s/90s. To each and their own but I think it's f***ing awful. Super homophobic in places. An adolescent edgelord fantasy camp whose only attempt to justify its premise is the tired "well everyone is a baby eating psycho" logic that just feels sinultaneously infantile and lazy. And, again, terrible artwork that makes Rob Liefeld look like Bryan Hitch. The Boys was puerile as hell too but at least it remembered to be funny.

See I loved Marshal Law cause it showed how most 80s cape comics were adolescent fantasies written for males.
Also found the Epic run then the stuff in Toxic to be hillarous. They were filled with dark humor like say The One,Maximortal or Brat Pack by Rick Veitch. By the time Marshal Law started I was 15 or so and had been reading superhero comics for 11 years. And was tired of all the tropes in them. Marshal Law showed how those tropes were old.
Kevin O'Neil's art,I get why some might not like it. But also I'm one who think's Jim Lee's interior art on comics is not good. Lee has zero story telling skills.

I like the movie myself, but I won't die on a hill defending it.
