Dude was making TikTok videos while he was on the clock, how did he expect it to go? It’s dudes like this that lead to “no phones on the floor” policies at a lot of places

I mean...you’d think if he was fired for a particular breach they’d want to disclose what that breach was or what the customer complained about?
Like, this is likely them being out of touch but reading the full story, something really doesn’t click here.

At the risk of sounding like a dick, most of us work jobs where we either arent able or aren't allowed to make/post videos to social media while on the clock.

But is he still making tiktok videos. He got fired in July so the answer is basically “Yes”.

Yeah a lot of places have policies forbidding filming and posting to social media while at work...especially in the back of house. You’re basically giving strangers a free tour behind the scenes. Want a free tour before you rob the place? Here you go.

Yeah I actually totally understand why they did this. He's basically broadcasting that he's not working. Also sounds like he was using company property.

You're on the clock, you got more important things to do than making Ninja Cat videos

I will say that at the very least he wanted to use what he was doing to help the company in building up its social media brand which, whilst not justifying what he was doing, at least showed he still wanted to be there and it was bizarre when nobody would at least reply saying “no, and please don’t do it at work” instead of ignoring him.
Ironically, it’ll probably lead to the company realizing they were wrong and ripping it off in a month or so after this story because capitalism.

Weren't his TikTok videos of the work he was doing? It wasn't like he was filming silly dances. He was being paid to mix paint and decided to make videos of the mixing paint to share his love of mixing paint.
I can see taking him off the floor, but give him the company social account.

And then made videos despite not getting approval He also didn’t exactly not get approval. Not saying what he did wasn’t wrong but if you’re a big enough company to not at least notice a potential transgression when someone has been contacting you about stuff before, you can’t be too annoyed when a story comes out months later painting you as a company not adapting to the times. It all kind of doesn’t matter anyway, he got a new job, he’s still doing the videos and Sherwin-Williams will likely hire someone to do social media and not look like dinosaurs.
