I’ve always wondered when he left the wwf why didn’t he return to ecw or wcw, they were both in desperate need of talent especially ecw. Was it because of personal demons or heat with Heyman? I know he’s acknowledged his demons.

ECW could have used him, but may have been heat with Heyman. WCW's roster was bloated till the end with big contracts and tons of pre-liminary talent.

Scorpio was a pioneer and an amazing athlete, but by the time he was out of the WWF, WCW had people who could do things just as athletic as he could, but didn't have the baggage or the asking price.

I think he was one of the last American stars to join All-Japan before Misawa left, then he followed Misawa to NOAH. He had a regular gig before WCW and ECW closed, plus WWE already had enough available talent after they went under. (I know he was back in WWE in the mid-00s, but I don't recall him lasting very long or being used very well.)

It's my understanding that the Japan money for him was absolutely tremendous.

I honestly thought this was going to be a thread about his huge bulge or something, just given the general weirdness lately.

Probably a combo of heat with Heyman, making good money in Japan and generally coming across as less flashy due to the rise of the cruiserweight style of the time. The Tumbleweed is still an time top finisher though, always looked sick.

The thing that made Scorpio unique to me was his size. He wasn’t like huge but he wasnt small either. He’s a well built guy that could really fly.

2 Cold had some of the sweetest little touches in the ring. I loved how sometimes he'd make a simple dropdown into a work of art, hopping up and springing back up. He had an ability to sorta bounce off the mat, kinda like Curt Hennig. And because he wasn't tiny, his aerial attacks looked more devastating.
Sadly, I think his peek in the U.S. was in a WCW tag team with Marcus Bagwell. He didn't need to talk much, and his role in the tag match formula was straightforward.
He couldn't talk well enough to become a singles star, I don't think he was an especially good storyteller in the ring, and WWF made him into a joke as Flash Funk. He probably realized he was used up in the U.S. by that point and was happy to take a more solid gig in Japan.

Didn't he have a huge drug problem post-WWF?

Didn't he have a huge drug problem post-WWF? Yeah he admitted being hooked on drugs derailed his career.

Scorpio was a bit ahead of his time. He was a heavyweight that could fly better than all but a few cruisers.
I’ll never get tired of the Foley story where the publisher or whoever told him to omit the part about Scorpio’s massive dong and Foley was like “would anyone sue for saying that they have a big package!.”

What was his heat with Heyman? Wasn't he in WWF in the first place because of the loose talent exchange between the companies?

Fan of his, and thought he deserved a better career in the states. It's hard to deny his style had an influence on many wrestlers.

What was his heat with Heyman? Wasn't he in WWF in the first place because of the loose talent exchange between the companies? It's Heyman, so a combination of bare-faced lying and cheques that bounced higher than quite a lot of Scorp's moveset.
But I think he still respects Heyman as a booker, and said he had fun working in ECW.
