He’ll always be remembered for being Darth Vader in everything but voice but to millions of Brits, he’ll be the guy who safely helped them cross roads as The Green Cross Code Man. RIP Big Man link

Also remember him from “A Clockwork Orange” and an episode of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy” series

RIP
He was so, so nice to my Dad and I when I'd see him at conventions. The morning after San Diego Comic-Con 2002 or 2003, my Dad saw him having breakfast by himself at a nearby restaurant and, on his way out, approached him to tell him "I really appreciate how kind you were to my son yesterday," and Prowse gave him a genuine smile and handshake, followed by a brief friendly chat.
Here's how he sounded as Vader:

RIP Dave
To this day, I still follow the Green Cross Code.
All those fools who cross with earphones while looking at their phones, beware.

James Earl Jones was the voice, David Prowse was the presence.

Something undersold about Prowse is he contributed to two iconic movies. Everyone knows he’s the guy in Vader’s suit, less reported is he worked to help Christopher Reeve get in shape to play Superman. So gotta tip your hat for that one too.
Rest In Peace.

For some reason I thought he had died a few years back. Seemed like a good dude, the documentary about him was interesting.

Rest In Peace. His likeness needs to be added to the dead Jedi master ghosts in the Star Wars movies

My nephew has becoming increasingly enamored with Star Wars lately. Loves Darth Vader now. Hums the main theme and now the Imperial March. Just yesterday my dad got my sister in law a birthday card that plays the March, and my nephew was giggling like an absolute maniac (opening it and playing it "181 times" the rest of the day). So this news hits decidedly harder for me (a life long Star Wars nerd already) today. RIP sir. *sigh*

Kitty Carlisle was a little rude cutting him off mid sentence.

This to me is a centrepiece fact when thinking of Prowse. Freaking Darth Vader trained the Man of Steel!

He was damn good in Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell. One of the few of the Hammer horror films I enjoy.
