After 35 years I demand the return of Billie! Are you kidding me? Steinbrenner was right to fire him, twice.

I watched part of an episode this morning. It was a clip show with an auditor investigating the court, and a clown with a gun holding everyone hostage...
I was just like WTF? This is too silly.

I watch the show every day as I get very few channel choices and also go to work soon after. It's the only thing I do watch unless something is on during my work lunch break. I think once Markie Post was added to the show it really took off given the dynamic between Christine and Harry. I really can't see the show lasting if the first two defense attorney's had been still on. No offense to them as actresses but something didn't click. Same with Karen Austin. I also didn't get the first two elderly bailiffs. The show is pretty dated now as it is with the type of humor but with those two it was horribly dated as every storyline or joke with them had to do with something from the 1940s or 50s. When Roz was added along with Christine everything just came together to make such a perfect show. Also having Charles Robinson added helped. I think the three additions to the show all together is what kept it together even though Harry, John and Richard usually got the better stories.

Why? Is John Larroquette’s “Richie Rich” royalty money running dry??

It was one of my favorite shows of the 80s but was very much of its time.

Yeah after this weekend's news this shouldn't happen. Too many originals gone.

Seen every episode at least 5 times. Hit right as I got access to a VHS vcr to record shows. And for years had most of the first 5 seasons on vhs, recorded off the rabbit ears I had in my room so they looked like crap.
And for what felt like 20 years it was reran on a local channel usually an hour each weekday.
One of my favorite sitcoms and makes me realize I'm old now that what close to half the main cast is gone.....
Thankfully it appears that LAFF is still airing Night Court. I got the first 4 or 5 seasons on DVD. Just never bothered getting the last few seasons.
