I skipped out after the opening match, just wasn't in the mood tonight.

9/10 - mainly for Kenny and Don reviving the Black Snow routine of calling their own matches.

I'm going low this week with a 6. Not that I didn't enjoy the show (show still flew by and was very enjoyable) but to me everything just seemed a little off most of the night. No big botches. But show felt clunky.
That being said, Kenny and Callis are quickly becoming a top notch act together. I said in the Dynamite thread they were the best heel act in wrestling but that honor still belongs to Roman Reigns for now. Either way those 2 are doing a great job of making a very hated heel champ

Really enjoyable show that put a lot of fresh talent over. In particular, really liked The Good, The Bad and The Hungiee as a trios combo and hope the loss doesn't mean they won't try again, loved seeing all the fresh talent in the 12 man match along with the return of Santana and instant conflict with Best Friends, and Kenny's such an amazing presence right now.
Going for a 9, bumped down a point because The Acclaimed keep dragging the tone back 20 years.

8/10. SCU and Acclaimed match dragged a bit. Was quite a fan of the rest.

Twitter at the final bell:
Dynamite: 28k
NXT: 13k
Looking like all things considered, AEW's keeping momentum into their Holiday Special shows.

as long as this show exists...short of them having their bizzaro world "lets book it/script it like the worst elements of modern WWE crossed with PEAK WCW 2000" episode...it will ALWAYS get a 10 from me for merely existing and entertaining me.
Soooo...
10/10

8 out of 10 - another great show. My only complaints are the women being an afterthought (again) and the multi-man tag match was hard to follow in places.

8 out of 10 - another great show. My only complaints are the women being an afterthought (again) and the multi-man tag match was hard to follow in places. Rosa/Baker had a good segment building their match up further, then we got a tag match that was pretty even which lead into a beatdown by the Vixens and then putting Red Velvet over making the save. If this were a pointless Squash that lead to nothing like they had been getting, sure, but I can't say what I saw tonight was "Afterthought" material, they're still continuing multiple feuds.

Dude, the women were shoved in the exact same slot on the show again in a meaningless match with little build or consequences. The Women's Champ also wasn't featured in any capacity. Things have certainly improved but the situation remains dismal compared to the other divisions.

8/10 for me, good stuff. Quickly souring on the Acclaimed, and there are a couple of acts/angles I'm not into which I've harped on enough in past rating threads, but beyond that I was highly entertained.
I'm always impressed by how AEW manages to come across as a living world better than any other modern promotion. Everything feels natural and organic, there's overlap and logical links between segments, character motivations make sense, and events from weeks/months ago factor into new developments rather than being forgotten or ignored.
It's a bit ironic, since AEW is possibly the worst offender when it comes to using "insider" terms and poking the fourth wall, but the angles, gimmicks and presentation are so well-developed that I can imagine a whole kayfabe backstage universe. BTE certainly helps in that regard, but even looking at Dynamite alone, they're killing it on the world-building front.

8/10
Lack of Shida bugged me and The Acclaimed stuff...oof
The rest of the show was great though
Almost gave a 10 for the good the bad and the hungeee alone. That was amazing haha
I freaking love the handling of Sting. What was even better, young inexperienced guy in Hobbs looking to attack him and veteran Taz stopping it. Made everyone look good.
Everything else was enjoyable in some way.

Things have certainly improved but the situation remains dismal compared to the other divisions. Shida/Abadon had a good segment on DARK, yeah I get it it was DARK but the Rosa/Baker segment was at 9:10, then The Accclaimed match happened, then the Women's Tag happened, and the build was two backstage assaults by the Vixens which took out Brandi and almost took out Velvet. It was at the very least something, it wasn't meaningless. Yeah they need to continue working on them, but they were much worse a few months back. I'm seeing promise at least, young developing talent, more trust in the depth, it's been a grind but at least there's been movement instead of them staying in the same rut. I just hope it can continue, and they get some big matches for New Years Smash

Gonna go with a 7/10. Good show, but it dragged in some places.

9. -1 for FTR's promo and some exceptionally poor choice of wording. No way in hell can you say that tag teams are a "sideshow" on a night heavily featuring them, especially after big tag matches get announced.
Yes, I know why it was there, still doesn't help the cause any.

Either 8 or 7.I think there was now reason Hangman & Dark order should have lost, and a few more downsides.
Probably an 8 because the main event was very entertaining.
