I'm morbidly curious how this will work. 24 Iron Man Matches? Guys working double duty under masks? Lots of skits and promos to pad the show? It's GCW, so it'll be wrestling, not skits to fill time. And I'm going to predict over 100 wrestlers will be on the show. That is, different human beings. Maybe multiple gimmicks done by the same people, but also 100 different people performing. It's happening in their home region. They already have like 70 wrestlers on a Spring Break show, and those are "only" 5 hours long. If I were them, I'd shoot for breaking multiple records in the course of the one show. Like any individual match length records, or the number of participants in one match, or the number of falls to take place in one match over the course of a certain lengthy period of time, etc. Do a 6 hour long Clusterf*** as part of it, just to have done the longest Rumble style match, with the most participants ever. Then again, this is probably the worst time to be attempting to set records of the largest number of people all doing something in the same place at the same time. Depending on who you ask, the record for longest match in history is either 12 hours or 23 1/2 hours.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have all the wrestlers involved being at the venue at the same time, even without the threat of COVID. No one is going to want to be there bell to bell that doesn't have to be.

I’ve always thought a gauntlet match would be a great way to do the worlds longest match. In kayfabe have guys come out random in a lottery system, if they lose they can reenter the lottery if they chose to. The last “current champion” after 24 hours is the winner. The guy with the most eliminations and the guy in the ring the longest also get awards.

Riffing on most of the posts above me, it would be great if every few hours there were a match that would logically go very long. Rumble style battle royal, Cibernetico, Captain's fall elimination match with huge teams, 2/3 falls match with a one hour time limit to a fall, gauntlet match, Iron Man match.

Someone, somewhere, right now, is fighting to be squashed on this show. Set the record for Shortest Wrestling Match On The Longest Wrestling Show.

Lets make it... FULL 24 HOURS FAN! #IN #NOSLEEP I'm with you bro! This is the kind of nerdy thing I used to dream about while watching too much wrestling during the week. I plan to stay up for this whole show! We'll see if I actually succeed at that. Probably not. But witnessing this kind of fandom history live sounds wonderful.

We're back in Lockdown here in the UK which means I won't be at work when this is on. I'm going to attempt the full 24 hours too.

Have they even announced How this day will work? This was the first real word on it. From this I think we'll perhaps be getting a number of themed mini shows from associated promotions and perhaps wrestlers, similar to the Mania weekends on a smaller scale maybe?

Honestly, the talk of which promotion is getting which time slot just makes it sound like a WrestleMania weekend with several shows but zero breaks/intermissions between shows. I’d be more interested in a true “one show that goes 24 hours,” which is something completely different.

I had my reservations about this, but I'm gonna try to do the full 24 hours without sleep.

More info up on the GCW Twitter now confirming we are getting themed 'blocks' over the 24 hours.

More info up on the GCW Twitter now confirming we are getting themed 'blocks' over the 24 hours. Which makes the most sense to do, to be honest. Like, some of the other ideas might be intriguing but from a marketing and production standpoint, it allows people to pick and choose what they watch instead of jumping midway through something they have zero context for.

In all honesty, it's the sort of thing where GCW excel too. Their shows are nearly always fun but the themed shows always seem to kick it up a notch.

Waiting for those cards to pop out. Don't have any expectations as of this moment.
