I got to thinking about this the other day. It's not like a title that can be won at any point in the year, the Rumble only happens once a year and there are a lot of big stars who have never won. My question is who is the biggest or has the biggest gripe with not winning one?
As a reminder these were the winners: 88 - Duggan 89- Studd 90 and 91 - Hogan 92 - Flair 93 - Yokozuna 94 - Hart/Luger 95 and 96 - HBK 97 and 98 - Austin 99 - McMahon 00 - Rock 01 - Austin 02 - HHH 03 - Lesnar 04 - Benoit 05 - Batista 06 - Mysterio 07 - Undertaker 08- Cena 09 - Orton 10 - Edge 11 - Del Rio 12 - Sheamus 13 - Cena 14 - Batista 15 - Reigns 16 - HHH 17 - Orton 18 - Nakamura 19 - Rollins 20 - McIntyre
So who's the biggest star to never win one and what year should they have won it? My thoughts initially were Savage, Warrior, and Andre, but other than maybe Warrior winning in 90 I couldn't figure out which year would've been the time for Savage or Andre.

Savage winning in 88 could have been part of the gradual build towards WMIV.
Jericho not winning in 2012 still feels odd all these years later.

For all of his records for eliminations, it's kind of crazy they never gave one to Kane.

Jericho should have won the 2012 Rumble.

Macho, a clean win for Bret and Jericho are likely the biggest 3 truly top stars to never win it so far.
Styles looks like he might joint them.

I added a poll, thought it might be easier with that added.

Kinda surprised Goldberg never won one. 5 years ago I would have NEVER said that simply because he wasn't in the WWE very long. But since he's "been back", I figure Goldberg winning the Rumble was the ultimate lazy ass way to book him at Mania for a title.
And the WWE is the best at taking the lazy ass way to shoehorn in a part-timer.
So yeah, I can't believe Goldberg isn't on the list these last couple years especially.

Savage was the second biggest star in one of the golden ages of wrestling.

All time - Macho Man. Bret has 94 even ifs a co-win. 90s/00s guys - tbh feel like Kane earned it at one point. Far too late now. Currently - easily Daniel Bryan.

You'd think they'd have had Andre win one just for the classic thing of him being too big to throw out. Obviously it's like an inside joke now that big guys actually get thrown out all the time but maybe it could have been different in the 80s!

Kurt Angle for me. He got all these accolades and touted like he was. Winning the rumble seems like something he should have on his resume

Bob Backlund 100% deserved to win the '93 Rumble. Started at #2, made it all the way to the Final 3 (with numerous times where he was threatened to be eliminated), and was in the match itself over twice as long as everyone else. I get that age was a factor on him not being in the winner's circle that night, but the story for the match was all him.

Legit think had Pat Patterson sold Vince/Ebersol on the idea 2 years earlier than he did, Andre would have won one in 86 or 87. By the time it was a thing he was too broken down. Kurt Angle for me. He got all these accolades and touted like he was. Winning the rumble seems like something he should have on his resume Oh man, the IWC was pissed he lost the 2002 Rumble.

Daniel Bryan not winning the Royal Rumble in 2014 is particularly weird when you consider how they booked WrestleMania 30. In hindsight, it kind of feels like Batista's Rumble win was unnecessary.

You reminded me that Big Show has been, according to the announcers, the "odds on favorite to win the Rumble" like 20+ times.
