Hopefully he has a chapter about how miserable he looks in photo ops with fans and can give an explanation why he is fine with ruining photo ops of paying fans. I have never met him, but after years of seeing fan photo ops with him, even paid, where he looks miserable, I really dislike him. I just saw a newish clip on Renee Young's YouTube channel where she was talking to Mox about this. He says he appreciates his fans very much, but he feels awkward being a "celebrity". He thinks it's weird how a stranger can walk up to him and know everything about him and feel like they know him, but he knows nothing about that person in return. He said if he could make the same money wrestling in the local National Guard Armory he would rather do that than be in WWE or AEW. Which kind of makes it weird that he would write a book and let strangers get to know him even more.

Yeah Wal-Mart has sold WWE shirts that are actually somehow even shittier than the stuff on WWEShop since at least the 90's. And the ones for kids are even more horrendous than the ones for adults.

I still contend he doesn't appreciate fans. Why else make a stone face in photos? And we as people will always verbally defend those close to us. She has probably been around him enough to see how he is to fans. I am all for him going to a National Guard and hoping that the friends of the promoters and their friends' friends have a few bucks to spend at his table for 8x10s. I'm sorry to his fans but I just feel there are different ways to go about showing fans you are shy and a private person and that way is not looking like someone just killed your dog in the photos you take. Also, the make a wish kid is not a random boy who met him at a signing or on the street. It was obviously pre arranged by WWE and he has to be on his best then. Look at a John Cena, now that is a man who appreciates his fans. Or Rock. As for doing a book, as Vince McMahon says "it's all about the mon-ay" and I'm sure he worked with Vince long enough to know that you put out something and a wrestling fan will buy it. Edit: I recall a signing at an indy show or one similar that Renee did a few years back where Dean was sitting near here. IIRC he made no attempt to chat with the fans and I don't think fans were even excited enough to try to speak with him given the way he looked.

All he owes fans is to be an entertaining wrestler.

He owes us absolutely nothing. All he owes fans is to be an entertaining wrestler. I completely understand that but in that case, he should turn down the fan for the photo op. If he doesn't like doing it, don't do it. Don't take the photo and look like someone just farted. Just refuse it. It only serves to embarrass the fan when he posts it online or shows his friends and he knows it. Until all you guys meet him and get a photo of him looking like he does with his bored face you will not understand. And I personally never got a photo with him. I don't want his autograph or photo. Also, it's pretty sad if that photo with the make a wish boy was the only one he got. John Cena or Daniel Bryan and many others would have given him a better photo than bending down and doing a generic fist pose. Look even at Enzo Amore who spent time at a dying child's home to make him happy. If someone can find more photos of Dean with this particular child where Dean looks like he's interested in spending time with his boy I will gladly walk back what I said. And before someone says Dean did a lot of Make a Wish appearances, just look at the difference between his make a wish photos and John Cena's on google images. John Cena is up close and personal with these children and hugging most of them while Dean looks the same in most of the photos as he does in free photo ops with fans at airports or a fan at a paid signing and again, that look is of disinterest.

It's his prerogative, and the look on his face says nothing about the man's character. Dude barely smiles in pics with without his friends or his wife, so why should strangers be any different? "He doesn't smile in pics with fans, that means he doesn't appreciate them, and that means he's a bad person" is just a horrible argument. Fans are lucky he says yes to ANYTHING out in the open. To expect anything more is just arrogant and greedy. As far as paid ops go? Some folks just don't smile in pictures. On the inverse of that, I've had numerous friendly interactions with TJ Perkins. Does that make him a great guy? No, dude is a colossal asshole.

I tried to understand where you were coming from before but now I'm so confused and think you have some alternative motive for feeling like you do. Now you come up with going to a signing where Mox was at to back up your claim where I feel like it would be something you would bring up earlier to help your cause. Plus you say "If someone can find more photos of Dean with this particular child where Dean looks like he's interested in spending time with his boy I will gladly walk back what I said."...why does it HAVE to be a picture with that particular kid to change your opinion, when other photos have been posted that already disprove your point? Plus, as you said, it was a 'Make-A-Wish Kid' signing, so you really think that's the ONLY photo he took? At this point your really stretching. My personal opinion.

Does that make him a great guy? No, dude is a colossal asshole. So him looking bored in photos with sick children and their families is acceptable because he's apparently a really good guy? Ok. It's the families I really feel bad for if this is their kid's hero and this is the way the guy looks in a photo. That may be one of the last photos those kids ever got to take. And again, if he is sick of fans bothering him the simple solution is turn them down! Don't take the photo. Don't purposely look like crap in the photo knowing that this fan will be embarrassed as hell when they show it to their friends and Dean looks like he does. I tried to understand where you were coming from before but now I'm so confused and think you have some alternative motive for feeling like you do. Now you come up with going to a signing where Mox was at to back up your claim where I feel like it would be something you would bring up earlier to help your cause. I have no motives, I just enjoy posting on this site and chatting with people and wish that this particular person came off as friendlier in his photo ops with fans. That's my motive-wanting him to be nicer looking in his photos. The person who originally replied to me replied with 4 photos, only 2 of which showed Dean Ambrose looking interested. Not all four but only two of the photos. And I have been around long enough to have seen several years of nasty looking photos of him with fans. Sorry, nasty looking to me is how he looks in most of his photos. I know that's acceptable to many people. Now maybe this one child with him and the bending down fist post doesn't reflect him in the grand scheme of things rather it is the totality of his "make a wish" photos. Just do a google image of his name and make a wish and you will see. He's literally just there. The ones of him with other people (whether it be him and other wrestlers or him with a whole make a wish kid's family) have him looking like a cardboard cutout. The man doesn't care. He's not interested in anyone in those photos. If someone truly cared and was happy doing something they would smile. If they were at least a decent person they would fake a smile. How many people in mininum wage jobs fake a smile every day or at least try to care about their customers and this can't even smile? It just rubs me the wrong way. The only people I've ever seen come close to how he looks in photos are Seth Rollins, Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay. All totally uninterested and uncaring about the person they are in the photo with. The man can't even muster up a smile with a make a wish kid or their family??? I'm going to exit this thread because everyone seems pretty fine with him looking like crap in his photos whether it be a free photo op, a paying fan at a WWE axxess or a make a wish kid and their family. I will continue to support the guys like John Cena and the Rock.

Idk bout you but if everywhere I went I had people coming up to me wantinf a photo I'd be dog tired of it and struggle to break out a cheesy grin however much I appreciated the support. The closest thing I have to this is leaving a job where I was reasonably well liked. It was lovely that people cared and were going to miss me or whatever but explaining where I was going and saying how much I was appreciative of their kind words and stuff got samey super quickly, however nice I thought it was. I imagine being nationally recognisable is like that x100000 and it's not just a couple weeks it's EVERY DAY. Some people are wired to smile and take it and be magmanimous but it sounds absolutely exhausting. If you say no to it, you're a prick. If you say yes and put on the nice show every time you'll wear yourself out. How does he win with you? By kissing every baby and doing the big smile and show until he decides it's really not worth the hassle and disappears? Cos apparently "give you your moment and carry on with my life" doesn't seem to be cutting it.

Maybe he's just socially awkward and can't take good photos when put on the spot. At the very least, give him as much benefit of the doubt as you gave an insane pillow guy.

I can see both arguments to be fair.
On one hand, yes... It does look a bit shit to the individual who took the picture.
But you have to realize, he's probably taken 100 of them that day. You're just another number to these guys. UNLESS you somehow muster up a connection with him through an interesting conversation or something like that.
Everyone's perspective is different. If I'm famous and I'm out shopping and someone approaches me for a picture, I'm probably thinking "Oh god here we go again..." before "Sure man, take it."
But yeah, I can't excuse looking miserable in a Make a Wish picture.
