My small video rental place (which slowly morphed into a pawn shop aisle by aisle) had loads of weird shit I've never seen anywhere else. I recall Disney Channel playing the hell out of Elm-Chanted Forest in the late 80's.

Also for TV shows, I vaguely remember a sitcom from the late 80's or very early 90's about a Nun who takes over an orphanage. The orphans include a girl in a wheelchair and another teenage girl who's an underage smoker. I want to say it was Saturdays on NBC as I remember it being in a programming block with The Golden Girls, but I could be wrong. Nobody else I talk to has any memory of this show. Sister Kate:

Shaker Fries at McDonalds. You buy fries and get a flavoured salt pack, either BBQ or Sour Cream'n'Onion. You dump the fries and the salt in the burger back and shake'em'up. The salt coats the fries and they were delicious. I recall in or around the mid-00's McDonalds sold a Cheesesteak and it was absolutely horrible. But nobody else I ever talk to remembers it and it never shows up in any of those "ten worst/forgotten/infamous McDonalds/fast food items" lists that populate YouTube. Was it a regional thing?. could very easily be a regional thing like the McLobster Roll.

I was fairly certain is was the same Steak and Cheese they put on their Bagel Sandwich with extra grilled onions. was a greasy mess. It was "okay" at best. I don't recall ever seeing it again anywhere. I almost wonder if it wasn't like a "managers special".

I got another. One I never saw but got from second-hand word of mouth (my brother)
The PSA filmstrip "Playing Chicken With The Train".
All I remember is him telling me the following:
1) Obviously, it was a film about train safety. 2) Starred this group of teens. 3) Ends with them doing something unsafe and getting decapitated (!) and disgusted onlookers watch as their remains are carried away in body bags or something. 4) One scene had one of the protagonists as it were reading a Spider-Man comic.

Two Guys and A Girl having a poll to see which character should get pregnant. That definitely was... something. Certainly seemed like a desperation move to grab some last-minute attention (and it pretty much was, since the big winner was revealed on what would be the final episode.)

That was the only time I ever remember them doing it.

in the early 90s the BBC showed a kids show from Australia (i think it was from oz possibly New Zealand) where a young boy was very happy, he swapped his happiness with a man who was very lucky, and then regretted it and spent the rest of the series trying to get back his happiness. i can't remember what it was called, i know it happened, if anyone knows what i'm on about please let me know cos its been bugging me for years.
it deffo wasnt alfonso bonzo cos i remeber that and the incredibly catchy theme song.

Not completely forgotten but I've never heard of this show, but now I want to check out episodes of it. It seems like something I would have liked as a kid.

Not completely forgotten but I've never heard of this how but now I want to check out episodes of it. It seems like something I would have liked as a kid. They were a lot of fun. My local library had a bunch of the VHS tapes. We only owned one, but I watched it a ton as a kid. I believe it had three stories on it. The first one was about a little boy trying to fall asleep but kept hearing noises downstairs and imagining it’s from monsters. He finally goes downstairs and his grandfather explains the noises and gives him a big bowl of ice cream. I believe the second one was about three bandits. They rob people and stuff, but then come across a kid or something and are at least nice to the kid. The last one is about three brothers who nearly get eaten by a witch. This one was my favorite and had the best animation of the three. I can’t remember any of the other stories since we’d just rent them from the library and watch them once. And this was like 30 years ago. I remember I always wanted to see the story that one clip is taken from that looks like it took place in Africa though.
