I'd love to actually see a breakdown of how things unfolded. I think the first seizure tweet was 30 minutes or so after the show ended. It caught fire, and WWE planted a story with a few of the wrestling media by midnight ET or so debunking it. I don't think that's an awful response time, given they're probably all traveling home, regrouping after the show and also trying to better understand the situation - who was tweeting what, and when. As we've all discussed in the last few days especially, plenty to hate on WWE about, but I don't know that their response was improper here. From what I can gather: *Dude on Twitter at the show says “Looks like O’Reilly is having a seizure”, starts to spread *Talent, either aware there was a stretcher job angle but not a “seizure” or unaware of anything (most likely because stretcher jobs happen all the time, they’re used to it and don’t need to be told every angle of the show, moreso in NXT), start tweeting their concern *First reporter says O’Reilly is fine *Next reporter says there wasn’t any real seizure at all, and now everything blows up at WWE for “having the audacity to book such a thing” (including from myself, I’ll wear that) Keep in mind that, at this point of time, there was no visual proof of ANY of this (but apparently there IS video now?). It had snowballed from one tweet where some guy, presumably with no malicious intent, tweeted what he thought he was seeing, into yet another criticism with which to beat WWE around the head with. I mean, there’s a whole lot of that they really DO deserve, but it’s scary how quickly it became like that, because our opinions of that company are just that low in the gutter. Even if they’d actually said something themselves on the website and said O’Reilly was OK, how many of these people would accuse them of lying and covering up the “truth”? Opinion is THAT LOW. I appreciate this look at things, and thank you! I agree - it's a statement of how low folks opinion's are of the company that everyone immediately leapt to conclusions on things. I'm just glad Kyle's ok, but it's a fascinating case study on how sideways things can go when there's a single source reporting something instead of when it was a full arena and we would have had a few different POVs.

I think this whole situation just shows how easily misinformation can spread on social media.

Hell, look at the Matt Hardy situation a months ago when he got legit knocked out and he finished his match against Sammy That shit was f***ing scary cause we was watching that live and Reby was losing her mind

I get not giving them a lot of rope in the moment, but even as the dust has settled, there's still a lot of "Oh....well......f*** them anyway because....." floating around. There's a whole lot of reasons to be angry at the company, but clinging to anything you can in regards to this is a bit much.

On the wrestlers tweeting about it, this from pwinsider:
So yeah, everyone was in on it.

Said it with Mickie James but selling so good folks legit think you hurt deserves a bonus or something I mean, the bonus with Mickie was "Never appear on Raw again besides specials".

So now I'm just kind of laughing at this whole situation because looking at it from this angle, Kyle's head doesn't come remotely close to the stairs. Credit to Cole for doing a great job of protecting Kyle. So all the hullabaloo over Kyle being hurt when he was perfectly protected. https://www.instagram.com/p/CLavyFGj4YO

Happy Kyle's ok, and I'm happy that the wrestlers were just playing into it
I'm sorry if I overreacted at all in this situation, but it was a perfect storm of shit that happened last night between the report, it being backed up by dirtsheets on the onset, and his friends SEEMINGLY out of the loop.
I didn't want to think NXT would be that short sighted not to let people know a work was happening, so I'm glad that's not the case.

It was AFTER THE SHOW HAD ENDED. It wasn't something that happened during the show that everyone freaked out about, it was people after the fact saying Kyle seemed to be hurt and it was a seizure, which correlated to his legit diabetes medical condition. There is also zero proof who tweeted it was doing it for Clout as well, but if they did, what an absolutely scummy move of course. You talk about people needing to relax but you're taking shots at people for something that quite honestly people are spinning the context of to make them look and frankly feel like shit for being concerned for a wrestler and their friends, and I have to ask you, who is that helping? This isn't even a WWE thing, it wouldn't have been taken well in any company. Can't we just be glad that in the end Kyle is ok? Because that's really what should matter after all is said and done. Of course everyone is happy he’s okay. But I think he’s referring to posts like yours immediately saying it was “clownshoes” on WWE and HHH’s part and a major dropped ball PR-wise. I and several others thought it was at the time. And it wasn't "F*** WWE" for me it was "F*** any company that would do this" and it happened to BE a WWE wrestler. I would not have been cool if AEW had done this, Impact, New Japan, you name it. Thankfully it turned out to be a whole work, and Im happy about that, and everyone did a good job. The way this info leaked out and was picked up just lead to a perfect storm of misinfo and WWE coming off this way. Contrary to what some might think, I really don't like thinking of new ways to say this company is shit, so I'm really glad I don't have to throw this onto the pile.
