Sorry for the strange title, but what examples can you think of where something outside the canon of a franchise helped influence or change the canon of the main product.
For example, Kano is now noted for being Australian thanks to the first Mortal Kombat movie, or the Mario Brothers film pairing Luigi and Daisy together.

Batman comics had a one-off cold-themed villain named Mr. Zero. The Adam West TV series renamed him Mr. Freeze, and the comics used that name from then on. And then several years later, Batman the Animated Series gave Mr. Freeze a tragic backstory that's been used in the comics since.

the first instance of Luigi being cowardly is the Super Mario Super Show.
Sorta fits Peach's first floating ability that's generally stayed with her comes from Mario 2 which wasn't originally a Mario game

Would Vinnie Jones saying “I’m the Juggernaut, bitch!” in X-Men: The Last Stand count?

Hasn't happened in main canon yet, but thanks to inspiring decades of "kill the hero's girlfriend" and the backlash from that, Gwen Stacy living and/or becoming Ghost-Spider is basically now the default option.

Not sure if this counts but there is fan speculation that some deviantart fan comics called Total Drama Kids influenced Total Dramarama.

"We Live In A Society" became canon to Zack Snyder's Justice League after years worth of online Joker memes.
Derpy was eventually given her fanon name in My Little Pony: FIM.
Despite the Teen Titans showrunners insisting to the 'shippers there was nothing romantic between them, the incredibly popular Beast Boy and Raven became an on-and-off canon couple not just in DC Comics (they were even the endgame Titans pairing for the post-crisis era), but also in Teen Titans Go!
The infamous Sanic Hedgehog drawing was used in the Sonic movie.

M. Bison was just a standard super Villain who wanted to rule the world. Thanks to the movie and various adaptations made him into a complete psychopath.

Sometimes fan critique of the gameplay would filter into the games. Yun was deliberately overpowered in Ultra SFIV, and one of his win quotes was “I’m not cheap, this hat cost a ton”.

Ken from Ultra IV: Of course I'd win! Check the flowcharts. Also Dan getting more moves that resemble Kyogenryu style from Art of Fighting in SF which was given to him by SNK in the SvC games.

The answer, for me at least, is "Coruscant."

Velma being a lesbian is now apparently canon I don't think any of Stormer, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Lando Calrissian or She-Ra were originally created with the idea of them being LGBTQ (could be wrong), yet between fan theories and supplemental material, they now all are in their canons.

The answer, for me at least, is "Coruscant." That's a grey area. At the time, all licensed Star Wars content operated under the rule of "It's automatically canon until George says otherwise." He didn't bring in his tiers of canonicity until midway through the prequels, so while Coruscant certainly is the first case of something from the EU crossing onto the screen, it was never at any point non-canon prior to that.

Terminology as well, such as "Seekers" being bots that share Starscream's mold, or "Gestalts" being combines like Devastator, Superion, Bruticus, Menasor, etc.

The Sam Rami Spider-Man movies lead to comic Spidey having organic web shooters for a time.
Comic Mystique briefly adopted her scaled/nude look from the Fox films.
Comic Star-Lord adopting his MCU look since the first Guardians film came out.

That's fair. I knew there was respect given to the canon of the EU but usually for its own sake (clear continuity so that certain things weren't contradicted) rather than in the greater scheme of the whole Star Wars world. That "unless George says otherwise" stipulation was pretty much always (dreadfully) looming too, I'd thought, which almost gave the Expanded Universe a sort of wild side to it - let's see what we can get away with until we get shut down. To Lucas' credit, there wasn't much shutting down and thus the leakage of ideas from the EU into movies felt..... special. Nowadays, under Disney, that personal touch is gone and what's being done (EVERYTHING. IN. CANON.) is good.... but more official and even cold/impersonal in scope.
