Noticed that on a lot of 1992 broadcasts, Bobby Heenan wore sweaters for Indiana University. Heenan never even went to college, so what was with this, some inside joke?

He was Indiana’s favorite Bobby. It was a bit he did with wrestlemania coming to Indiana and he claimed he never heard of Bobby Knight.

No surprise Heenan didn't go to college, why bother with something if Hacksaw is good enough for it?

Apter mags considered it a reference to Ted Knight's character on Too Close for Comfort.

Its also worth noting that Heenan worked a lot in Indiana while in Dick the Bruiser's WWA territory so it might have been both an in character gag and a shout out at the same time.

It's not like Prime Time had a strict dress code or anything... It's actually kind of neat that Vince must have been like "Ya know what? Let's just be comfy for once. Wear a sweater, sweats, whatever you're feeling"

Wear a sweater, sweats, whatever you're feeling" Probably because those tapings took all damn day and the audience was made up of WWF employees. Heenan says if Vince goes live at 7, he goes live at 7. But if he’s taping at 7, he tapes at 10 because he’s busy doing a million other things.

Random but I was recently watching Prime Time from December 1990 and they’re talking about the Jake Roberts/Rick Martel blinding angle and Bobby says “Gorilla did you know this year the Royal Rumble will have 58 eyes. Once you account for Jake and Hacksaw”

There was definitely a Ted Knight thing in an addition to a Bobby-being-from-Indiana thing, because for a lot of those studio-audience Prime Times Heenan is wearing random sweaters to all sorts of colleges, just like Knight did on his sitcom of around that time.

When I saw those shots of Heenan wearing red sweaters, he was almost like a doppelgänger for Bobby Knight.

Come on Vince, you could do better then that. At least Andre's trying. And it's probably not easy for Andre to find clothes in his size.
